So, north really butchered pick 1.
Were offered two top 5 picks and knocked it back so they could get a bit of marketing money from a chosen one jumper.
Now they probably don't even get a top 5 pick for horne-francis

The old North would have traded pick 1 for five 28 year olds and a future second rounder.

We had a crack and it failed spectacularly. It sucks but I'm still glad we tried to get our first superstar in 20 odd years.

I cannot remember North's involvement with Nathan Buckley but seem to recall they had some connection to him and he played one season at Lions and then off to Pies. For some reason, this reminds me a bit of that time, but just different clubs involved.

If this makes me a bigfooty numpty so be it but would hope the club is in the phone to the AFL tomorrow morning about the average pp we recieved. O chance we recieve a future second and future 3rd that has to be traded if Jason tells the club he want to go back to Adelaide weeks ago when the seasion has just finished after going pick 1 only 12 months ago

I guess we should only draft Victorian Players 🤦‍♂️
Nah, screw that. Draft whomever you like. North did brilliantly with interstate players like Cable from WA, Blight from SA, Melrose, McCann, Glendinning, Carey, Holden, Longmire, Phil Kelly, Krakouer brothers, Laidley, Hodgeman, Pickett, etc etc.
No point throwing baby out with the bath water over one player.

I can’t remember what happened but I recall Collingwood were always his first choice, think maybe North made a late bid that he seriously considered.
