I was curious, so I hopped over to Footywire to check Melbourne's order of goalscorers and was shocked to find Fritsch at the bottom of the pile with just the 1 so far. Nothing in the first half of this game.

All could change in the blink of an eye of course, but last year he was their top scorer with 41 at 64.1% accuracy. Next was Kossie with 36 at 60%.

I'm always impressed by Geelong's team cohesion. As new players join the Cats they too become part of a corporate entity - bit like an ant colony.

And I'm admiring (and a mite envious) of all the pinpoint kickers among the Cats.

Not for the first time I’m a bit underwhelmed watching Kozzie Pickett play.
Yeah he’s good, but he’s certainly not great. I know it’s his first game of the season and all but still.
Far from convinced he’s the answer to all our problems. Quite wasteful in front of goal too.

Surely we've learnt by now that there's no such thing as the messiah.

lol

Yeah dockeroo we get it it , you want Warner

No need to constantly talk kozzie down at every opportunity to reinforce the point.
-like seriously it’s his first game for the year ffs- in a team playing a brand of football that’s even worse than ours.

-anyway look on the bright side ,As others have mentioned at least his transition into our team should be seamless

Also I might add , neither is Warner the answer to all our problems either.

But he sure as shit will cost the team both in salary and picks as if he is.

Our game plan /coaching is the biggest issue that needs addressing before acquiring either player and thinking they’re a difference maker

They don't to be the messiah though? Pickett can be a nice piece. I know he's contracted but the only thing that could have kept him there was Goodwin and that ship is clearly about to depart. If the club could show a LITTLE bit of backbone in trade, Pickett on a reasonable contract would be pretty nice

Not saying he wouldn't be nice but thinking he's going to turn our fortunes around is a little silly. The final piece, as long as the rest of the puzzle is in place.
