Eh, I'd argue that the Hawks are better than us and had a better side on the park.

We were smashed by Collingwood who found some form, and then capitulated against West Coast (despite being in it right up to the last quarter) after a week of heavy scrutiny.

If we get smashed again this week I'll cede the point, but until then I'll hold on to the belief that we can win our next three games and finish 4th or 5th.

Good to see Footscray getting a stand alone in the VFL. Bring back the reserves? Half the Victorian sides may have one next year (Richmond and St. Kilda pending), the NSW and Qld sides have them in the NEAFL (which is a shit comp) and the SA/WA sides want them as well. If half the sides can afford it it's not hard funding the rest of them so they can afford it as well

Funding a reserves team in a state league is one thing, but a national reserves league with interstate travel is a whole extra level of cost for everyone involved, and offers very little benefit at least for the Melbourne teams.
