'Hawthorn has traded pick 14 for Carlton's future first and second round picks' - Cal Twomey

'Carlton is in talks to trade its F1 + F2 to Hawthorn for Pick 14. A deal that could have huge flow-on effects for Dan Houston, Tom Barrass and more.' - Riley Beveridge

'It's Carlton's F2 that is going to Hawthorn. Blues able to do it after getting another F2 from Brisbane. It's been accepted by the Hawks' - Riley Beveridge

Doing everthing they can to get Houston to Carlton
It's weird because Hawthorne where expected to use #14 for Barass and then WCE use that pick for Baker.

So maybe Baker and Shai to heave-ho?

Trading out #14 in a strong draft for a potential #18 and #37 while also possibly aiding a rival that they seem to think they're in the running against. They're drinking their own piss thinking their shit doesn't stink.
What if it helps them get other trades done?

You'd have to think they're 2 steps ahead because in isolation it looks a bit silly.

I hope they're not 2 steps ahead though, and that they have been silly

Just saw Ivan Soldo on Lonsdale St with the girlfriend that’s supposedly dragging him back to Melbourne… I’ve never seen a man so visibly enamoured

A nightclub’s CCTV footage which includes Geelong midfielder Tanner Bruhn is expected to form a key part into the investigation of an alleged sexual assault.
The Herald Sun can reveal Bruhn and his friends were on a night out in Geelong on February 4 last year, just hours before the alleged incident occurred.
The group visited retro venue Beavs Bar on Little Malop St and controversial nightclub Bloom on Moorabool St.

Tanner Bruhn was interviewed by detectives last month.

It is believed Bruhn and his friends were partying into the early hours of the morning.
Victoria Police confirmed an alleged sexual assault took place in Belmont — a suburb of Geelong — on February 5.
Bruhn and his mate were interviewed by detectives last month about their knowledge of the incident.
The young gun was spoken to by the Sexual Offences and Child Investigation Team on September 26, a day after he celebrated Wacky Wednesday with his teammates.

The Herald Sun has been told police requested CCTV footage from Bloom following the incident on February 5.
Police regularly use CCTV footage as part of criminal investigations, whether it is to identify offenders or verify witness statements.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the pair was not arrested and were free to go after the interview.
“Police have interviewed two men as part of an investigation into an alleged sexual assault in February 2023,” she said.
“The men were released pending further investigation into the matter.”

AFL spokesman Jay Allen said the AFL was aware of the matter.

“As it is a Victoria Police investigation, we are not in a position to make any further comment at this time,” he said.

Bruhn is currently on a trip in the US with a group of fellow AFL players including Jack Ginnivan, Matt Guelfi, Jye Caldwell and Archie Perkins.

On Thursday, Guelfi posted a photo of Tanner in a pool with the caption: “Been stuck worse places (sic)” and tagged the location as Austin, Texas.

Bruhn signed a two-year contract extension with Geelong in June, tying him to the club until the end of 2027.
Geelong Football Club was contacted for comment.

Does anyone find it odd the Dogs wouldn't take pick #25 for Caleb Daniel? The guys been sub over and over, played in the twos this year but they value him higher than 25??!?!

Dogs are trying to make "statements". If they take that for Daniel, it might hurt them playing hardball for Smith?

Clubs are getting sick of players just saying they want to leave and the receiving club taking the mickey with low-ball offers.

Some players, the clubs are happy to let them go, but releasing one of your senior players you wouldn't have otherwise let go, has to come with a price tag.

I understand them playing hardball with Smith but with Daniel theyve basically indicated all season he isnt part of their plans going forward and pushed him to look for a trade by dropping him/making him sub numerous times in favour of guys like Bramble, now theyre acting like he is a required player.

I hear you however I'd argue the Dogs have already told the entire comp how much they value Daniel by subbing him and playing him in the VFL. He's not best 22 there and they've said as much, so the idea they're now telling everyone they place a greater value on him is to put it bluntly ridiculous at best.

Statements are best made when dealing out a player you value.

Just read they are asking Saints for pick 27 for Macrae, Saints offering 47. Im on the fence over who is being fair with this one but again they basically pushed Macrae out the door all season.

Neither player imho would be worth under 40, so to me 47 seems more than fair. I think the Saints are right to offer that.

The Dogs can't afford to lose all three of Daniel, Macrae and Smith and get back one early pick for Smith and two late picks for the other two.

It'll just look bad overall.
It looks bad overall with the Dogs asking for "fair" trade value for 2 players they've effectively frog marched out the door with the way they were handled all year.

You reap what you sow.

Not convinced by the Blues part of the trade. I understand the West Coast and think it'll work for them.
