This wouldn't be as much of an issue if he wasn't captain but taking the captaincy has to mean something. He can't look another bloke in the club in the eye properly now as captain and demand anything for the jumper.

Meh, captains have left clubs before. It happens. If West Coast have a problem with it they can take it off him. He might still be happy to stay at the Eagles and just hearing the other offers or trying to leverage the club a little. Making him do this public apology is ridiculous.

If you're captain you're signing up to lead the players and the club, if you've got half an eye out the door that means you ain't doing the job properly. I just looked up Colbert's wiki cause I'd forgotten he existed and had to laugh at this paragraph clearly written by a Cats fan
