His influence is huge.
2022 we dont make finals without him, 2023 probably similar and we win it. 2024 we would probably be out of the at the moment.
Grand final he wins ball twice in the De Goey goal, Crisps goal he gets through traffic and spots him in a way no other player could do and then final seconds calmy pulls off an outlet kick to buy us time.
Peter was an amazing midfielder could easily have won a brownlow if played there a whole season without injury but so good up forward it was very hard not to put him there. Nick is on another level as a midfielder.

Much has been said about phillips being subbed off, but as many have pointed out nick broke the shackles in the 3rd. There’s a reason why phillips got fatigued, in the 2nd half nick didn’t have a rotation. So you’re asking a tagger not only to gut run with him, but to do it without a breather, tough ask. Nicks tank is immense for any player let alone a 3rd year player, freak.

Phillips did it on purpose because he really wants to play for us.

8 touches and 2 goals is a quiet quarter for Nick now evidently. 😂

I’m still stunned how he could take the cox tap out, dish out the short handball to Pendles, and suddenly be 40 metres downfield picking up the mihocek crumbs from the Pendles kick and then handball over his head to Jordy …. All without the opposition laying a finger on him!

Edit… handball to jordy while still in mid air..

that handball to jordy while still in the air shows awareness and connection between the players. Nick didn’t have time to look he just trusted that jordy would be there (probably heard a voice too).

Do we need a VFL tagger?
Based on what I saw last week he’s better than that. He’s stuck behind some immense young talent at the Roos, much like Lipinski was at the Dogs. I think he’ll become a good player wherever he ends up.

Nick into equal favouritism for the Brownlow after no votes for Heeney today.

Gulden and Warner are really starting to hurt his chances, having three eye catcher midfielders.

But I don’t trust the umpires after the debacles we have seen with Judd and Neale, it really does feel like they back their horse early, and continue to feed them votes and then all their mates know who to put a pineapple on when they sneakily ask them at a BBQ.

The giveaway is all these players in recent years polling 36 votes and ridiculous numbers like that. They are not that influential, there is much more to it in a team sport.

This year is all Bont.

Media/fan narrative has ramped up hard about him not winning one yet and he's having a great year.

Similar to Nick, doesn't have many on his team taking votes away from him and the Dogs will win enough games to pick up enough 3 voters.

Yeah, it's going to be an interesting count.

Even earlier in the year, he had plenty of games whilst not outstanding, was getting low 20's and 2 goals, which are in the mix for votes and the umpires won't miss him.

Gulden another interesting one. Reckon he'll steal a few votes off Heeney in the first half of the year as he is more eye catching and had some big last quarters.

And of course Cripps only has to turn up to get a vote from the umpires, so if he gets 30 plus he's a lock for the 3.

And some people still insist he doesn't have the potential to be the GOAT.
We could win 10 flags in a row, Nick get the Norm Smith in all of them, and the Brownlow in each of those years and some people still wouldn’t recognise him as GOAT.

Only 1 medal Nick will want again

I hate Carlton and Geelong but ive always respected Judd, GAJ, Danger etc. Its quite unhinged how oppo flogs bag Nick. Hes literally a faultless human character and talent wise. Perhaps thats what triggers their insecurity
