Where is the contract status of players . Cant locate it … we need a mini clean out of players who are just not up to it …. I assume Austin has dead wood with contracts to the end of 2026 and 2027… over estimated our chances and tried to go younger cut depth and play cute … terrible list management

This club continually overrates its list. It’s the reason why we hang on to players for too long. Unfortunately we rely on our top end talent to win games. This is never sustainable and ultimately results in a middle of the road outcome. It was the same during the Ratten and Judd era where we relied on individual brilliance too often. Clubs like Geelong and Hawthorn focus on building a list which is balanced and aligned to their systems and game strategy.

No we didn’t, we traded our first this year for 14 and traded 12 and 14 for 3

We never once had all 3 picks at once

Losing those picks is gonna hurt the way our season is looking.

2 2nd rounder draftees (perhaps a bit harsh on Cowan)

I know Jagga doing his acl is just bad luck but we lost 2 first round picks in a great draft and likely a high pick this year to the Hawks.

Clearly the list was massively overrated by Austin if he thought it was sensible to go all out for just one player.

Yes this is using the benefit of hindsight but we are a long way off the pace.

He has to go. The rebuild is a bust.

We don’t have both of 2 x 1st rounders picks in 2024 + 2025 1st (was traded for 2024)
A). Pick 12 & 14 in 2024
B). Pick 12 ‘24 & 1st rounder 2025
vs
Pick 3 in ‘24 & not a lot in ‘25 (BL R2 pick) as the final pick outcome = Jagga Smith
