Chris Scott. Never fun to try to oversee a complete re-build. Many a wise person has incorrectly predicted a Geelong crash, but I think this will finally be the year.

He's been a great servant, but realistically could be 1-5 after a tough start to the season.
We're talking the coach being sacked right? Chris Scott is about the safest coach in the league from that perspective.

I guess if we do poorly he could do a Hardwick but there was a smell around Hardwick (marriage break-up, throwing everything at mature aged players, etc) that suggested he was there for a good time not a long time. Nothing like that from Scott.

Picked Longmuir.

Depends on how hard the Freo fans/media go at him vs Peter Bell & the list management team but the expectation was for Freo to push into the top 4-6 this by 2024.

Same sort of situation at the Dogs.

Bevo is an absolute space cadet but I rekon he's starting to sell the idea that they don't actually have a top 4 list and that he's squeezing a team of spuds for all they're worth.

In 2024 they'll probably line up with O'Donnell or Darcy at CHB and a 34yo Jones at FB. For as top end as their midfield and KPF options are, they will have a seriously hard time defending with that backline.

Same could be said for most coaches if they have a poor season.

No one has voted for Nicks yet... so still time to get in like you did last season. ;)
One thing for certain, anyone who wants to get under that thin skin knows exactly who to suggest might get the sack.

You really seem to he struggling that this is a discussion forum where everyone has a right to their own opinion but others also have a right to offer differing opinions.

It's latter you keep trying to shutdown...

So your posting is ironic.

Get a mirror.
I’m not the one that only moments ago was sooking in the predictions thread about Nick’s being discussed in this very thread last year.

I sadly picked my Man Justin Longmuir....

I love Justin Longmuir and hoped he would last 8-10 seasons with some sustained and consistent finals success.

Im gonna make This prediction about Nicks and the Crows.

I saw your teams fixture. I see the crows post a 14 wins and 9 loss record in 2024.

Saying that, I said the exact same thing about Port in 2023 in getting 14 wins.

It has to be Longmanure, good players keep leaving and they should be in the top 8 with their current list.

Given Freo are banking 1st rounders for next season & have traded out more experience, you sense Longmuir will be given at least a couple of more years to see out this rebuild.

Would need the wheels to completely fall off for him to be sacked imo.

I'm quietly optimistic that 2023 was the season Freo needed to have. Take a step back, re-juggle the list, then push forward with a relatively young list.

Why is everyone so quiet on Kenny ?. Oh, the fans will devour him, so sacking will not be required ?!!!!.

No point discussing Ken. Everyone knows he'll be at Port until the heat death of the universe.

Port fans Hatred of Ken Hinkley is a bit over the top isnt it?

Never seen a bunch of AFL supporters hate a coach for giving his all and good service for 10-12 seasons.

I get it. Not sure it's Ken's fault - but his job never seems at risk despite results, and Port makes it clear.

It is interesting comparing Nicks & Longmuir. Both started at the same time and only Longmuir has made and won a final in that time but he's under more heat going off the poll.

Essendon would probably give someone a 5 year deal if they won a final.

Freo promised their supporters top 4 finishes starting a couple of seasons ago and a flag by 2025. If they go backwards again like many predict Longmuir will be gone.

Longmuir got a "Sando spike", which increased early expectations.

Nicks on the other hand took over a club at Rock bottom after the camp saga... & been a slow rebuild since.

Absolutely. Chris will be well and truly given a chance at a rebuild IF it goes that way. Ridiculous to even suggest he’ll be sacked if you guys have a poor year.

Think Bevo is already a dead man walking. Him or Goodwin for mine, cause I can totally see these Melbourne off field issues imploding.

Longmuir will be fine - Freo are a lock for finals in 2024.

Bevo moving on makes the most sense but it could be a quiet year.

WCE won’t sack Simpson mid-season, so he’d need to walk….and if he hasn’t walked yet…

Has to be Beveridge or Longmuir, doesn't it?

Not sure either will go in 2024 but they're under the pump already and a poor start to the year may force their clubs into action.

Is Mitchell safe in all circumstances or if Hawthorn regresses could he come under pressure?

Unless there's a major falling out, he'd be safe.
