Geelong Ford 100 years celebration kit for R4
The longy almost looks a bit like a throwback with the "curved" hoop at the top;

A few oversights/oddities in the Gather Round fixture t-shirt. Old St Kilda logo, extra unnecessary chevrons for the Dockers logo, maybe not so much an oversight but the Hawks and Bulldogs logos are their normal ones instead of their respective centenary logos

Hawthorn is technically correct because on afl marketing we use the regular logo (100 year seems to only be on merch)

Interesting that the cat is facing the other direction... a quick scan of the article I didn't see an explanation why, but (assuming it's not an error - not sure how that could happen), I'm guessing it's a nod to a historical Geelong logo or something.

Though that just raises the question of why not just use an old logo on the guernsey, rather than the current logo and just turned it around?

Ah righto, good catch. It's obviously not the end of the world, but not my cup of tea... it just comes across as pointless tinkering to me, marketing teams trying to be a bit too clever.

Like, the explanation makes perfect sense, great sentiment. But how is that only applicable for one game and then the cat turns back around 'looking backwards' on the permanent version?

The GTHO Falcon stripe is a cool decision, the forward facing cat looks so odd, looks uncanny.

Credit where it's due, I reckon Geelong's design team has been on fire with the recent one-off guernsey designs over the past two seasons, with last year's home and clash indigenous designs, the best country round guernsey by a country mile last year (with the players' original club logos on the chest), the 100 year anniversary last year and the Ford guernsey this year. All crackers in my opinion.

Also why can I see the Suns logo? Shouldn’t it be almost invisible?

Chucking a logo to face to its right to signify 'progress' and 'looking forward' is one of the most ineffective, overused cliches, to the extent that stuff going in the opposite direction actually looks stronger because its a bit of a clash to how your eye naturally reads things.

Essendon really need to work on designing jumpers with the sponsor in mind (or designing a better way to seamlessly fit sponsors onto the jumper). The only year this hasn’t been a problem for the ANZAC jumper is 2022.

Again this year, they just put black gaps into the design to fit the sponsor. I thought this was just an under armour issue but they’ve done it again. This is also the exact same thing they wore in 2020 with a Puma logo and Dutton on the front with Fujitsu on the back instead of Amart.

Wait, so Collingwood as home team is wearing a white-based jumper (black shorts?) and Ess as away team wearing black-based jumper and white shorts? Surely not...

Crisp was wearing white shorts in the photo for Collingwood. I’d imagine Essendon didn’t know Collingwood’s kit is white (therefore they’d wear black shorts), so went with what they’ve done previously (white shorts).

If Essendon won’t wear red, it’d be great if Collingwood agreed to wear predominantly white every year, and Essendon black.
