Interesting not one mention of nicks by Soligo yesterday, yet he did talk about Murray.
Lol. Lets jump at shadows, create a drama, and seek to drive wedges that are unlikely to be there. The club has had a review, addressed deficiencies, and made adjustments. Why not celebrate this and look for positive outcomes from the process. With 'supporters' like these, who needs opposition? If, as the season progresses, pigheadedness remains, lets call it out then. At the moment there is a fair bit to be enthused about!

From reading a number of threads, I get the impression that a number of contributors believe that Murray Davis will have an over-arching role in relation to selections. If that is truly the case, then it would be extremely rare. He will have a voice, no doubt, but so will all the others on the selection panel. What we all have to hope for is that they listen to his views BEFORE they select the team and that as an "outsider" they value those views. Don't hang him if the teams are not as you want!! Actually, if everyone on here gets who they want in the team each week we should win every game. Why? Because we probably would have 27 or 28 in each week's team (including the bench).

I think you may need to have a squiz over these thread you've read to notice that Nicks is likely to be the one copping heat for any selection gaffes.

Just a hunch

I think the point was that if people were hoping for change then Davis may not be the answer

I mean I think he should be a strong voice but Nicks will live and die by his final say

The club got worse after the previous review, so perhaps we should wait to celebrate until we actually see some results. I like to celebrate results, like a lot of people, maybe you are easily pleased? I don't know.

Getting all uptight about selection for a trial game is odd.

Why not? Its symptomatic of continued thinking
Is it ?? Or is it a chance for young guys to play a full game in the 2s ??

I think we are all in agreeance that Murphy is not, and has never been the answer. Im comfortable to let Taylor continue to learn a new role in the 2s whilst taking Murphy on a largely irrelevant trip to Queensland.

It isn't just a trial game selection, it is five seasons of selection issues and Murphy on the squad for a pre-season game is giving the indication that the underlying issues are still there
