Official Team Thread Mt. Buller Demons Season 36 Team Thread | There's No Business Like Snow Business

With just our three finals remaining, let’s turn our attention to the Poster of the Season Award, acknowledging excellent and engaging match thread posting.

As mentioned earlier, in my view, the Season 36 Demons showcased, perhaps, the greatest ever posting unit in the Sweet FA - in a holistic sense across depth, quality, and volume.

20+ posters rocked up to every single match thread, which is actually quite incredible. We had 23 unique posters across the season. A whopping 13 posters averaged 20+ posts per match thread. But the important thing is that those posts were high quality and enjoyable. Four MBD players in the top 20 of the beez Trophy (and seven in the top 50) demonstrated that the opposition enjoyed our posting efforts, too.

But the winner of this award for Season 36 is a poster we greatly enjoyed in their first season at The Snow Dome: Scythe94.

After crossing from the Furies in the off-season, Scythe94 found their groove straight away, and contributed ~75 posts per week in match threads. We loved their presence all over the world of Sweet, often combining with Gralin to provide a 1-2 punch to invigorate our list.

Scythe94 is really a great example of the Mount Buller culture - active and engaged, willing to help, friendly, and funny.

Good on you, Scythe94 - and congratulations!

In a wonderful performance from some of Mt Bullers leading players, the Mighty Delons gave the Rats a long over due bath.​

• Tarkyn_24 in his last season at Buller showed why he was the clubs stellar FF kicking 8.3
• Gralin put in a monster performance with a DT of 132
• Hate was back to his rucking best with 15 hitouts, 16 kicks, and 6 tackles
• Yakker was the Hardman for the day with 10 tackles laid
• sante also had a fantastic game with 13 kicks, 9 marks and 14 handballs...quite and achievement for an emu!
• manangatang had a mighty game showing why he is the No.1 Captain in the League standing up when it mattered and inspiring us all to a mighty surge in the last quarter to send the Rats scurrying back to their sewer to lick their many wounds.

Match highlight: carty gave okey another addition to his resume

• While very slim pickings for both players, cartwright had the better of okeydoke7 - 19m from 77 to 96.

Let’s move on to the Season 36 Eth Award, named after Mount Buller Legend Eth. The award is designed to recognise a player each season who best encapsulates the club values and most holistically contributes to its excellence.

The award is usually based on a player vote. In Season 36, we deviated from tradition slightly; the winner was a captain’s call, with the player vote reinstated for Season 37.

Though many posters would have been deserving winners in Season 36 - Hate, Tarkyn_24, Gralin, Wosh, manangatang, Scythe94, sausageroll, PMBangers - I’m pleased to announce that the Season 36 Eth Award winner is Gralin.

We spoke earlier of Gralin’s incredible debut season, but it really can’t be overstated how dominant it was - and those achievements were only reinforced in Season 37.

Congratulations, Gralin - we love playing alongside you and appreciate everything you bring to the Mount Buller table.

The Prelim was played in the Sky which was apt as we certainly fell back to earth.
It was a thrashing all around with Tarks only managing one goal in his last game for Mt Buller and Hate jmoo wan and moginie the only Demons to crack 80 DT points.
After the previous season we were pretty proud to have made it to the Prelim and over all we had a terrific season drafting EKA winner Gralin and Scythe94 who both slotted right in and had a wonderful season on and off field.

Not much more to say about the match though there were rumblings and rumours around the league about some 'Cocaine Bears' spotted partying in Vegas afterwards (and before) the match

sausageroll had a terrific season of qooty, culminating in All-Sweet FA selection in the centre of the ground. As always, we enjoyed snags’ humour, warmth, and statistical prowess.

Wosh kicked 42 goals in Season 36, leading our count. This is Wosh’s second consecutive cats2rise Medal - congratulations, Wosh!

At the other end of the ground, Headless played at full-back for the season and was awarded All-Sweet FA representation for their efforts. Headless averaged 30+ posts per week, and also placed in this extremely balanced and fair thread that absolutely wasn’t only posted due to their self-interest:
