Peter Matera rightly gets lauded for his impact on the 1992 GF. But Tony Evans' 2 goals within about 3 minutes near the end of the 2nd quarter pulled us to within 2 goals of Geelong at a critical juncture. Clutch.

Credit where it's due, Karl Langdon created some clever knock ons for Evans to capitalise.

Brett Heady being moved into the midfield also helped us get on top, too.

In terms of actual stakes it has to be Rojo doesn’t it? If he doesn’t get there the Swans likely get a much better surge inside 50 than what they ended up getting - i.e. that last boundary thrown in.

We could have gone from premiers to back to back runners up in the blink of an eye - still looking for our third flag (24 year drought).

'99 first round 4th vs 5th final away against the Bulldogs was epic. Friday night at the G, we were considered no chance. We stuck it out the whole game and finished with our noses in front. Even the late Matt Price (political journo/Dockers diehard) said in one of his books that he started going for us that night, worthy praise. Scott Cummings on fire, of course

So it doesn’t meet the one requirement of the thread?

Chad Rintouls tackle late in the match to stop a Bulldogs surge forward. Was getting poleaxed in a sheppard and still managed to bring the Bulldog to the ground.

Awesome stuff.

Daniel Kerr in the 2011 Semi-Final. Set up a crucial fourth quarter goal in a game we won by three points, but also was a line in the sand moment for a club without too much finals experience across some key contributors.

I love this moment.

That manchild Darling has since grown a beard, but otherwise looks exactly the same.

Pretty sure this Broome/Neates goal was the primary trigger for our miraculous 2011 season

Lol - he handballs it to the ground practically yet Neates doesn’t even have to break stride and takes it waist height.

That was a great moment. I thought Broome and Weedon were going to be our Ryan and Rioli
