Young player behind a mob of players. If my mate was (1) unhappy to see him leave and (2) happy for him to get an opportunity somewhere else, it says a bit to me. He was pretty big on Keays too, in the same way, most of us were on Lyons

Some pretty handy defenders he'd have to had displaced...Luke Hodge, Daniel Rich, Brandon Starcevich, Marcus Adams, Xallum Ah Chee, Noah Answerth etc.

Jordan Dawson played 5 games in his first 3 years and he turned out fine.

It takes a bit more time for some players than others. Being in a strong team with good incumbents in their position also doesn't help.

iirc when Scarlett was a defensive coach at Geelong he said he liked his defensive players to have some size on them.

Makes sense, if you were a forward line player who would you rather line up on Hinge or Jones...

I haven't kept an eagle eye on Hinge but I like how he goes about it, has some grit and determination - I'm a fan.

Depends on who I am.

If I'm a speedy small forward, then Jones is more of a problem cos he can catch me.

If I'm a medium forward, then Hinge is probably better in the air.

If I'm a middle aged keyboard warrior, then I could likely be left ungaurded in the square for long periods of time.

Really good pick up. When you think of players on your list who should and shouldn't be in a premiership building 22, he's one who should be imo. Tough and strong defensively with a pretty calm head and decent skills. Fills a demographic void as well.

Really liked what Hinge has brought. Rarely plays a bad game, tough and good footskills.
