A few years ago when our record at AO was excellent, Cripps was interviewed after the final siren in game we'd won and he'd kicked 5;
"You guys seem to enjoy it over here and you played a great game"
Without missing a beat Cripps says "best surface in the country". The implication being he thinks optus is less than ideal.

You'd think after 6 and a half years they would've worked out how to grow grass.
doesn't help with Optus being oriented the wrong way.

It's a process of elimination when it comes to grass.

Keep off the grass - Old Man Nesbitt

Smoke the grass - W.Rioli

Hamstrings with the tensile strength of grass - L.Shuey

We'll get there eventually

Also the transport too and from is ****ed.
  • Midland line having to use East Perth Station
  • Moving the northern busses to the other side of the river
  • only one entertainment venue nearby

Yeh what gives with this? Absolute shambles...

Just adding to the above...the 661 bus down the terrace was great for me personally, parents have an apartment in East Perth so was extremely convenient to park up here and then jump on. But they've done away with that service this year for some reason. Been pissing me off to no end...would love it if the "geniuses" at Transperth could explain this & the reason we have to walk to the other bloody side of the river for the northern suburb buses now.

He’s always so chilled and relaxed when he talks, but at the same time he’s more than likely the smartest person in the room by some margin…
He's the anti-Hewett. Was quite a contrast listening to the two back to back.

Barrass talks slowly with a stoned draw and in a round-about way but possesses more insight than the rest of the playing squad put together, whereas Hewett speaks very rapidly and directly, randomly name drops stoic philosphers, but clearly has NFI. Still very young so pleanty of time to wise up.

Here's hoping all this Barrass trade talk is just that, talk. Having genuine impressive people like Barrass is invaluable for a club's culture, particularly one with a young playing group. It wouldn't surprise me if he's a spiritual captain at the club, in contrast to the more media trained and agreeable Allan, and all round top bloke Duggo. We have a nice balance of leaders with their own unique styles. Bodes well for the future.

Bodes well for the future - hope not, don't want to be Geelong

Jeebus - stay away from tonight’s Midweek Tackle if you want your blood pressure kept under control. Whole segment on how Harley should have been a Dee and only isn’t because you can’t trade 2 rounds into the future. Mindblowing stuff.

Vic media simply fulfilling their own wet dream.

Also, imagine Harley at that drug ridden mess of a club? Would suck to see him playing in front of empty stadiums his entire career.

Gotta love an honest player who says it how it is.
Our home ground surface is crap and has always been. MCG is the benchmark.
Our midfield doesn't put enough pressure on.
Our forward line doesn't work hard enough to retain the ball.
Our backline works bloody hard.
Would be much better if the other lines worked as hard (I put that bit in but sure he thought it)

Would love top know what the club didn't want being aired from the presser.
I heard some players last year say that Adelaide is the best surface to play on.

Absolutely no excuses for Optus.

People have been complaining for 5 years now. AFL is partly to blame for not having the guts to say it needs fixing.

The Midweek Tackle is really a piece of 2nd level journalism with journos making up stories to appear relevant.

Yep, the burgers are better at Hungry Jack's™️.
I bought a burger there once, possibly the worse thing I've ever eaten. The food in the River room looks ok, I've even thought about buying some but then I come to my senses and buy a beer and a rose for the missus.

Assume by that one you mean the Camfield?

The Casino is just up the road, plus 2 breweries in Burswood. In East Perth there's the Royal and a couple of other small bars close by. Plenty of options imo

What they didn't mention was most thought Melbourne would finish top 4 this year so next years first pick would be around 15, not 10.

Would we have done the deal for 6,11 and 15?
Not sure.
