Star GWS defender Sam Taylor has been ruled out indefinitely after undergoing surgery on a ruptured testicle.

Taylor suffered the injury during last week's 22-point win over Port Adelaide.

West Coast co-captain Liam Duggan is set to re-sign in the coming weeks, but his management has conceded it had “taken a little bit longer than we would’ve liked”.

“It’s moving forward, which is positive. It’s probably taken a little bit longer than we would’ve liked but Duggo’s a terrific character, a terrific player as well,” Seccull told Gettable.

“We’re looking much closer to putting pen to paper. Definitely want to have it done sooner rather than later, both parties – we’re definitely getting there,” Duggan told Triple M.

“I’ve wanted to sign on for a long time and the club have been really forward in letting me know they want me to be part of the future as well, so something will get done definitely.

“I want to be an Eagle for life, so it’s a few years and I’m starting to get towards the back end (of my career).”

Interview touches on several topics but it’s only 3 minutes long meaning it doesn’t go into much depth on any of them

Would have liked this to be far longer

Surely there's an extended version somewhere - seems like a lot of work for 3 minutes.

Inb4 sex life etc.

Remember she like all the execs see each club as a dollar sign, success or failure is irrelevant as long as they are profitable.
Yup, 100%.

Whenever the AFL says something about 'assistance' and 'equalisation', it should be understood that they are referring to loss minimisation.

Priority picks and academies go to financially distressed clubs; marquee timeslots and fixture assistance goes to revenue generating, TV draw cards.

The salary cap and especially the soft cap were introduced to save the AFL's bottom line. Firstly, by reducing their direct subsidising costs and secondly by limiting their overall OpEx.

It's literally all about money. I'm sure the AFL loves the canard, 'footy socialism', because it distracts from the fact that it's a monopoly, a not-for-profit cartel.

Are you quite right? The boys and I are busy making scrotum jokes at the moment

Gee Dan, talk about pearls before swine. Not all of us are just hanging out, waiting for that perfect moment to dip into our coin purse and rustle up a couple of gems.

How about next time taking a second before unloading on your fellow posters, it's unseamly!

Don Pyke impresses me every time I hear him.

Good to hear we’ll be ‘aggressive’ in trading. Who knows some of the hypotheticals on the Trade thread might even be close? 😊

All that said, so far it’s all just words from a new CEO. Let’s see how it pans out. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Yeah I would've expected Essendon to be higher.
I guess they've been irrelevant long enough people are forgetting.
If Essendon actually get good again it would be a blight on the comp. Thankfully their penchant for short cuts (read cheating) and their extreme levels of entitlement are actually helping keep them down which is nice to see. But they will make you wish for a dominant Richmond/Collingwood make no mistake about it.

The thing about essendons current turn is that any success is born from the fact they have a west coast player for a list manager and a west coast ceo.

So really any success is ours anyway.

It also makes our close loss to them look something something.
