I like how the AFL has supposedly made a mistake but the fixture was set before anyone knew the Saints were going to be any good.

The only thing in that article where there’s a semblance of a valid argument is that the saints/pies and Bombers/Dees games are the only clash between those teams this year

Gather round is an additional round so it should feature teams that are scheduled to play at another point during the season

Jeez. Imagine the uproar if two Victorian teams had to play back to back weeks in Adelaide.

You can bet your bottom dollar that if WA ever gets to host the gather round concept, it will be the two SA teams that get stuck here back to back weeks.
