Im sorry, like Hansen I dont think he has a body capable of having an impact at AFL level.

His legs at ruck contests point inward, basically it seems as though and quite often does result in him falling over.

And as well all know, once you lose your feet you're out of the contest.

I've changed my mind, after seeing Lynch have an impact and hold his own around the ground I'd like to see Seaby traded and Sullivan fast tracked.

If he was ever going to come on he would have.

Agree to an extent. I thought he had a great future ahead of him, but appears to have stagnated at minimum and it is more likely he has gone backwards. Not a good sign for a 24-year old who should be hitting the peak of his career. I haven't seen enough of Sullivan to know whether he is a real prospect as of next year, but I wouldn't want to be left with him as our second 'real' ruckman.

However, for the moment, Lynch in the ruck and Hunter at full forward is a much better option than Seaby.

I have, he'd be more than capable of playing the second dtring option for 5 or so games come the second half of the year.

Let's hope it pans out that way.

I had hoped that Seaby would build on his good pree season form and keep on improving.

Seeing Lynch ruck in the final quarter and do well while Seaby watched from full forward must have been a real kick in the guts for Seaby and most likely his "pink slip" out of our squad.

Where ever he ends up lets hope he's just a late developing ruckman and does well. He's a good bloke from all reports but someone just needs to get inside his head and build his confidence and desire to compete.

A Paul Roos project player maybe??

Seen more intensity in a rotting tree.

Its a bit like watching the seagulls fight for the chip as you throw them one. Theres always one bird. You could throw it at his feet and he will still be the last one to get to the chip. That seagull is like Mark Seaby with a football. The bloke rucks but is still always last to a contest. Something needs to change and quickly

That boundary line effort late in the second quater, where he took the massive swan dive from the throw in, that just made me mad!!! Useless effort!!!

If we ended up with pick one, do you think the recruiting staff and match comittee would consider offloading Seaby and taking Natanui ahead of Rich?!?!

I think it would have its merits, by the time he is reaching his best footy, coxy will be getting on!!!

I would think the eagles recruiting staff would be looking at getting a ruckman over a richman at the draft. I dont really think we need any more young midfielders to be honest.
Oh and Seaby is finished, will be delisted, any chance Chad Jones could play ruck? Will Sullivan is not even close to getting a game.

Yarbs is clearly a Freo fan being a troll

Seaby isnt getting delisted. Just in the WAFL for a while

I'm tending to agree that if we were low enough in the picks we might be going for Nat over Rich after seeing how poor Seaby is doing. Sullivan I dont see being 'dominant', and Lynch will only ever be a rotation into the ruck... so with so many promising young mids already we prob would go Nat... not that he'll probably drop to us anyway unless we do finish last.

Seaby has no impact, but I think even Cox was a bit of a mismatch on Hille. Lynch seemed to be doing much better. I think WC will keep playing Seaby till the end of the year to give him more value in a trade.

what about kosi??? Would be great at FF with Kennedy at CHF, with mckinley and lecras in the pockets. His trade value has decreased over the past year or two and we could afford his salary. Is a better ruckman and forward than seaby, and we could trade seaby for draft picks to st kilda as part of the exchange or for young kids in the draft.
Seaby for an early 2nd round
2nd round, 3rd round and staker for kosi??
Kosi takes a great contested mark, is very mobile and is a good kick for goals. With him at FF, cones and hansen could also be offloaded for either draft picks or delisted to make more space for rookie picks and salary cap.
Have kosi and lynch rotating through as backup ruck, with the other at FF.

The most frustrating thing is he will rip his opponent apart one week and for the rest of the month he will get smashed. Against Kangaroos he ripped it good and since then he hasnt done anything good.

Staker in the ruckmen mould? ;)

NickNat has been training at the club for the last two weeks.

In and out of the gym, Peter Worsfold and he are pretty tight.

another really patchy game for seaby against essendon.

with the way lynch is going, the only reason seaby should be playing is to increase his trade value... although that'll backfire with too many more efforts like last night.

agree with the comments about seabys current form buuuttt ... when it comes to bodies crunching packs he is one of the very very few to fully commit his body to a crunching pack.against sydney the ball came long into f/f he got there late but fully committed to the contest got crunched but caused the spillage.he played his best footy when leading the ruck.cox is a fantastic footballer but if he has a weakness it is his lack of physicality which our young side is crying out for.why not play cox at fullforward with lynch and kennedy further up the ground?i think seaby would improve in leaps and bounds.what have we got to lose?? in the final v port last year seaby also did 2 crunching full body spoils.
