After a wonderful day at the MCG I've had to go home to change and recharge phone to go see bands tonight. At the Corner Hotel. As in, at Richmond just over the road from where I've already been all day.

At least you were smart enough to take your phone today...my dumbass left it at home, not for the first time. Was worried I had left it on the train so pinched a stranger's to buzz it and thankfully house-mate answered it. Will never make the switch from carrying a wallet to stuffing everything in the phone cover as I'm effing hopeless.

Cirith Ungol and Night Demon. Cirith Ungol started just after Black Sabbath, and I don't think they've ever been here before; this is their retirement tour. Night Demon are a modern take on that classic early metal style. Local supports are Tarot (I liked them when they opened for Japanese Black Metal legends Sigh at the Bendigo Hotel last year, my first gig post pandemic) and Aardvark who are supposed to be very good. Unfortunately I won't make it in time for Aardvark (who are on now while I'm waiting at FTG Station), and it's iffy if I'll make it in time for Tarot.

I like the corner purely for it's enormous pole in the middle of the band room. I can stand up against it safe in the knowledge I'm not blocking anyone's view
