Last ever night game at the Coliseum has just finished.

The last game the Athletics will play at the Coliseum is a day game (starting 1pm PDT, I believe) as the Athletics finish their season on the road in Seattle.

Congratulations to Brent Rooker, the first Silver Slugger award winner for the Athletics since Eric Chavez won a Silver Slugger award back in 2002.

According to reports examining the Las Vegas Stadium Authority records, the budget for the construction of the new stadium in Las Vegas to host the Athletics' home games has increased by $250 million, from $1.5 billion to $1.75 billion. The budget increase apparently has been caused by inflation and the addition of 70,000 square feet of ballpark features, including more clubs and suites, upgraded general admission spaces and player amenities. According to reports, the Vegas ballpark would be the first in the MLB to offer under-seat cooling.

Very sad news. I agree, the greatest A's player ever. His stolen base record will never be broken

The Sacramento Athletics are in agreement with manager Mark Kotsay on a three year contract extension that covers the 2026-2028 seasons. The Athletics will have a club option over Kotsay for 2029.

Kotsay has been manager since the start of the 2022 season, having previously served as bench coach and quality control coach under previous manager Bob Melvin since 2017. Kotsay played for the Athletics for four years during his 17-year career. This includes a season in which he hit .314/.370/.459 as the every-day centre fielder for the Athletics in 2004.

Ryan Brasier also said something similar before the series started. Brasier signed a minor league contract with the Athletics in July 2015, but never pitched in the majors for the Athletics because he spent most of the season rehabbing from Tommy John surgery he underwent in 2014.

Brasier told USA Today that he thinks it's so stupid that they have to play at a Triple-A stadium when they have maybe not a perfectly good ballpark in Oakland, but a big league ballpark. He said that he would much rather play in Oakland than Sacramento, but it didn't really matter what they wanted.
