MRP / Trib. Lachie Schultz rabbit punch on Blake Acres

This should go directly to the tribunal imo.

If you grade it out then it has to be high - intentional - low impact = 1 week

But it was a shocking act. You just can't have a league where you can get 3 weeks for a reckless tackle and 1 week for coward punching someone in the back of the head when they are joggin away from you in a dead ball situation.

Punching blokes in the head gets off of you play for GWS and not named Toby Greene so he should be fine.

But you know Collingwood’s going well when the media are pulling every little incident out and running their own MRO process…

6 weeks

Imagine what the MRP members would think if you ran up behind them when they were walking down the street and hit them in the head.

Lol. What about if someone decided to jump onto the shoulders of the MRO while walking down the street, or tackle him. How about if someone dives across Christian's leg in a smother action. That'd be pretty fk'n weird to see walking down the street.

Those are all football actions though.

Punching someone in the back of the head isn’t though.

Schultz action is one of the worst things you can do on a footy field, he’s just very lucky the punch didn’t have much force behind it/ didn’t hit Acres in the wrong spot.

Is the bumping of players before the bounce a football action too? That happens on the football field, but do that to the MRO walking down the street and it just be weird.

Comparing actions on the field to actions off the field is just stupid.

Walk into work on Monday and grab someone by the shirt and give them a jumper punch to just beneath their neck.

This is such a bizarre hot take. They literally would do this for anyone. Hell there was 20 replays of Wardlaw on Wilson yesterday - I’d hardly describe North as going well 😂

Talk about main character mentality lol

'Little' incident? Surely you can see this deserves a week.

So a non football act on gets one week? Make it two and send a message to get this type of action out of the game

I think it is largely out of the game, haven’t seen it in a long time.

1 week for what didn’t even knock Acres over is enough to tell moron players to not do this. No matter how hard, if you hit someone from behind it’s a week. If someone thinks a suspension is worth it for something that doesn’t impact the other player then that’s on them.

Jumper punches are meant to be free kicks now as well and a week if it hits the face.

Some things are more accepted in game than anywhere else, saying that though, it doesn’t matter off-field or onfield hitting someone in the back of the head is never ok.

Chased a bloke and hit him from behind. 1 week is laughable, Should be 3 weeks. And enough with the ‘footy act’ please, you do that on the streets and you’ll yourself spending some time on his majesty’s correction centre.

Lets be real here.
What Lachie Shultz did has never and should never be accepted.
The optics of it chasing a player down to strike them in the back of the head was horrible.
Should feel fortunate to only be given one week
The lack of media scrutiny really saved him. Had there been a media push like there has been for other bad incidents he would have missed a long time.
