Would honestly not be surprised if this has all been a ploy by neale and his manager to uppity his contract. Freo have played along with it. He is signing the extension as we speak. And they announce it all tonight.

I'm not sure. Chances are just as good that Bell and Rosich have been talking to him about what it will take to make him stay. We sound pretty keen to make it happen, if we can. The only question is how far we are prepared to go. Rosich went from confident to not answering to positive, so things may have been fluctuating. One of our local journo's went from staying to going, to in the last few days, staying. Either way wouldn't surprise me tbo.

Well, I hope we don't "overpay" to keep Neale. His salary needs to fit his value, but if he is looking for a career payday type of contract, then we can extract an opportunity to improve our list by trading him to Brisbane. He is important, not irreplaceable.

Was browsing TheAge.com.au and there was a Lachie Neale article saying he was being offered a 5 x $1,000,000 a year article.

Had told the club, was essentially out.

It's The Age so I assumed it was written by a journalist.

Seemed to be lacking any details or references and seemed to be a lot of guesses in there.

It wasn't until I scrolled back up that I realised I had been tricked. IT WAS A CRUMPET FACE ARTICLE.

Because DC Comics are upset about Marvel having a Stadium named after them and wanted some representation in the fast growing AFL/Comics market.

I didn't think so. Neale is a better player by a long way than Weller.He has proven himself for a number of years now.A real talent.Pick 4/5 is far far too short to accept. Fremantle will not bow to it.

His contract offered by Bris does have an impact on what Freo should receive. I don't expect a win out of the trade by Freo however I don't see why they can't expect something better than pick 4.

Just an FYI I'm in the camp of lachie being worth more then pick 4(5).

Curious what you value Hogan at. Hogan obviously being an excellent player in a position much more sought after. If we are expected to pay 2 firsts. Then Hogan is surely worth more.

Brisbane in: Neale + 2019 2nd pick.

Freo in : pick 5 + 2019 1st round.

I'll be backing us to have a big year next year. Finish maybe 10th. So 5 and 8 for Neale and possibly a pick in the early to mid 20s.
