Looks like a shoulder tackle, if he connected with his head Smith would've been knocked into next week.
Not really. Pickett's a whippet and won't be hurting too many throughout his career.

Ok mateNot really. Pickett's a whippet and won't be hurting too many throughout his career.
Buddy should've got 12 weeks, if he did that to Paddy McCartin he would've killed him.The AFL have never taken head knocks seriously enough. The fact that Bailey got back up should be irrelevant, if he had done that to Paddy Mccartin it would have ended his career. The act needs to be penalised not the outcome.
If the AFL were serious this would be a 6 week ban and the AFL would send the message that preventable blows to the head are going to be significantly penalised from here on out.
And to head off any accusations of bias or hypocrisy I also think that Buddy should get 3 weeks for his hit last night. He honestly does not seem to have enough concern for the welfare of opposition players and too often collects them high or just narrowly avoids getting them high.
Look at the Melbourne nuffs try to defend the dog campaigner, he’s a ******* pig of a player.
Should honestly be 5 weeks for that action
If its as you say it should be a pretty easy tribunal case then for the Demons and he'll line up next weekDid he even get him in the head? Looks like a shoulder tackle, if he connected with his head Smith would've been knocked into next week.
Intentional, severe impact, low outcome.Careless and high impact both don't really make sense.
IMO they've set a bad precedent by grading all bumps as careless.
Just call it Intentional and medium impact.
Facebook nuffie level post here.3-5 weeks, yet the bloke he hit was caught engaging in an illegal activity, and only got 2 weeks? You kidding!?
Should be given a medal for putting him on his arse.
Ben stratton got 2 weeks for pinching. How do they measure that? Seems pretty arbitrary, in what circumstances could it have caused injury that differed from the actual incident?
Drug use isn't actually illegal in most states of Australia.3-5 weeks, yet the bloke he hit was caught engaging in an illegal activity, and only got 2 weeks? You kidding!?
Should be given a medal for putting him on his arse.
Because it's hard to prove he intended to hit him high.Yeah, I'm trying to work out how it wasn't graded as intentional.
Then why did he launch himself like Greg Louganis going into a triple twist?Because it's hard to prove he intended to hit him high.
classic case that shows we should be punishing the action, not the result.
had bailey smith not gotten up pickett gets a minimum 4 weeks, the fact smith gets up he gets 2.
MRO needs to start punishing the action, regardless of the result. This type of hit has NO place in AFL footy.
We’ve been saying this for years just because the bloke is lucky his jaw isn’t smashed in 10 places should not make the action any better. Expected this charge but do I agree with it no. In a week we have had a class action launched we take the softest punishment ever on head high contact
AFL should cover over the top and demand 4 weeks.
Cannot understand how this gets 2 weeks.
The fact it is graded careless and not intentional is completely ****ed to begin with...... it should have been 3 weeks which even still is less than what it deserved.
Now watch the one yesterday get 4+ and fans be like what..
will hopefully be a big serve up to the MRO on 360 this week.
the MRO is a joke.
When he was at the hawks he couldn't sneeze without getting suspended... wonder what changedSo Buddy causes more damage and has a shocking record but gets 1 week?
