So do we start protesting? Take JL OUT signs to training and game days? How do we make our grievances heard and matter?

Thinking of getting a ‘Sack Longmuir’ shirt created and wearing it our next home game.

I’m going away for two and a half months after Easter so the only reason I’m not creating/ordering that shirt right now is because if it doesn’t arrive within two weeks I might not ever wear it.

Waaaaaay too chummy with the board. Never should've gotten that early extension last year. Should've earned it. Same this year. We'll finish bottom 4 and they'll still find a way to keep him.

At the very least they won't even consider the sack for as long as they can use player injuries as an excuse.
Agreed. The fastest way to sack him as it stands would be the exact same way Mick was sacked at Carlton….when the board was challenged and his backers left the club.
Can’t see that happening at Freo atm

Watched the presser as I always do. He’s lost all respect from me. Blames the kids for getting caught up in the moment when discussing the loss. What world is he living in? Older players let us down today. After having a pop at Reid last week as well. I’m genuinely furious.
I mean this is the JL pile on thread, but I'm calling you out on this total bs.

In case you missed it, he's referring to Voss specifically for absolutely burning the team by kicking it to half forward. He actually says youngish players, so Voss is clearly the person he's referring to.

This thread is full of JL said this and that but you are all hearing what you want to hear.

Not defending JL, just calling out how much runnish is being said in here.

Really, what's stopping the players from just going "**** it, this shit isn't working" and they decide to play on instinct instead?
There's actually an occasional example in history of that working. Maybe not winning flags, but certainly at least playing a better brand of footy, enjoying themselves as players a lot more and getting on a roll with wins
According to a couple of ITKs at Carlton, their turnaround at the end of 2023 when they went from being boring dogshit mid season to a prelim was exactly that, the players had enough and just ignored crazy Vossy. It's certainly happened in other sports - Socceroos when the World Cup was played in South Africa springs to mind when Lucas Neill got the players together and told them to ignore the coach.
I assume this madness actually backfires more than it succeeds but Jesus, if you are playing in our team at the moment under our coach, you have my sympathy

Mick Malthouse got the sack rd 3 or 4 for Carlton right? It is possible.

Malthouse was sacked in late May. That’s around Round 8-10.

He also went on radio the day before and told the world how poor he thought Carlton’s administration was. He was basically trying to get sacked at that point knowing it was going to happen anyway.

Or meeting at the farm in 2006 and ignore Cuddles. We got into preliminary final and played some mesmerising football

Look he’s on notice.

The club has
West Coast
Bulldogs at home
Richmond away (not at MCG)
Melbourne at MCG
ADELAIDE at home.
St Kilda away

Club has to go 5-2 to make do. Believe it can, because it’s a favourable draw. Players have to hurt more than the fans.

But anything less, and Jl will go mid season.
Even if we go 5-2, what’s the point? You really think this gamestyle is delivering us our first flag?

The fact that the narrative coming from the player interviews is we weren't cautious enough when we were 15 points up with 10 mins to go is absolutely f**king damning.

No wonder our players are like frozen deer in headlights every time a game gets close if that fear of making a mistake ethos is hammered into them repeatedly.

Think not sacking JL end of 2023 could’ve cost us the chance of a flag tbh. Most of the team is young but some older players might be hard to replace IMO.

This game plan stinks. It’s why we didn’t make finals in both 2023 and 2024 and why we won’t again until it changes. Blame injuries late last year however much you want - facts are we win that Essendon game and are borderline top four as a result of having a decent coach. Perhaps add an extra one or two wins to that btw.

This team has a few weaker players in it for sure but outside of Reidy and Worner, whose selections are just mind boggling (in Worner’s case especially given what else was available), there’s no absolute spuds out there. I still firmly think it’s a good enough list that making finals should be the absolute minimum.

This is what Mark Harvey would’ve been if not for the move to bring Ross Lyon in. The reality is that the decision was made to bring in Ross Lyon but ultimately replacing Harvey was just as important. This administration can’t pull off a Ross Lyon type deal and are too scared to get Longmuir out if we can’t. We’re going to waste this season because of Longmuir and probably half of next season because we need to learn the game plan we should already be implementing.

Bold to claim it’s total bs and then go on to claim that you know exactly who he is referring to. He says “youngish players getting caught in the moment” before he mentions Voss.

Not a pop at you, but jeez I want to know why people give this guy so much rope. Last week he popped at Reid, this week, again, IN MY OPINION, he popped at young/youngish players. Equally bad imo.

Why doesn’t he have a go at Cox, Ryan, Freddy, Banfield, Walker? Aiming at “youngish” kids just screams of a man who knows the easy target instead of actually being tough on the people who SHOULD be held to account.

Why 6 yrs down the road can this team not execute a gameplan? What is the ****en gameplan ? If its handballing backwards sideways and into the turf followed by bombing it into the forward line only after having the ball crawl slowly out of defence then they are executing it perfectly.Did these other teams not get the memo ? We are a top 4 side

Yeah but JLo kicked a goal after the siren for us once so clearly he’s very well credentialed

Hi JLo,
It's time. You're hanging by a thread.
This week must be an emphatic win.
If we can't beat West Coast by at least 30 points (after all, it should be 60+), please retire.
There's just repeatedly too much of a gap between the talk and the delivery.
No more 'we'll review our performance' please, reviews are clearly not working.
We've now lost 6 in a row. And many outside the club say we have the best list we've ever had.
Cheers.

Dear Mr. Longmuir,

I write to you today as a passionate Fremantle Dockers supporter who has endured the recent painful stretch of six consecutive losses with increasing frustration and disappointment.

When you were appointed as our coach, there was genuine optimism about the direction you would take this proud club. That optimism has sadly faded into disillusionment as we've watched a talented list underperform week after week under your guidance.

The current situation has become untenable for several reasons:

First, the game plan you've implemented appears incomprehensible not only to supporters but seemingly to the players themselves. The lack of cohesion and direction on the field suggests a fundamental disconnect between your strategic vision and its execution.

Second, your cautious approach has stifled what should be an exciting, dynamic team. The overly defensive mindset and risk-averse style have neutered our attacking potential and turned what should be entertaining contests into exercises in frustration.

Third, and perhaps most concerning, is that this is arguably the strongest list Fremantle has assembled in years. The talent at your disposal should be producing far better results than what we're seeing. When a team consistently performs below the sum of its parts, questions must be asked of leadership.

The nervous energy that seems to pervade your coaching decisions has transmitted to the playing group. Football is as much about confidence as it is about skill, and right now, this team lacks the former despite having plenty of the latter.

For the good of the club we both care deeply about, I believe it's time for you to step aside. Sometimes the hardest decisions are also the right ones. A fresh voice and new direction may be exactly what this talented group needs to realise its potential.

I appreciate your efforts and dedication to the Fremantle Football Club, but the results speak for themselves. It's time for change.

Respectfully,
Purple Jesus
