So Port looking to split pick 8.

Freo want it for Jackson.

Pick 13 plus the North 2023 2nd round PP they get for Logue.

Port use 13 on Graham.

2023 North PP for Rioli.

Port land 2 x starting best 22 players round 1 2023 for cost of pick 8. They play deep into finals and Ken Hinkley signs on for another 3 years. Happy days.;):D

Where is there any info stating we are looking to split pick 8?

Hasn’t there only been conjecture that freo might want that pick to use in a trade with melb?

Also, **** off with that trade suggestion. It’s horrible.

That would be burning down Alberton worthy. I wouldn't trade pick 8 for ten Graham/Rioli level players, let alone two.

Ok how about Port usethe Amon pick on Graham instead and they keep and use 13 in the draft.

Forgot about the Amon pick.

Amon for Graham sounds about right.
Amon for graham sounds about right? Amon, who was our highest Brownlow vote getter this year, third highest and in the all Australian squad last year. I understand the pick we get for him is free agency compo but don’t see how he is considered a fair swap for either Rioli or graham.

Graham was a runner up in the Tigers B&F as a two way running midfielder / HFF. Good defensively more so than attacking. In a multi premiership side.

Amon plays more outside / accumulation football. Decent tackling numbers as well.

And Amon was 4th in our b and f last year in a prelim team. I get it and I know the type of player graham is. It just seems that people’s valuations of these players are massively skewed to what they want. We are losing him anyway, but amon out and either of Rioli or graham in as a straight replacement is a net loss for us. It does not make us a better team.

If Graham had played the exact same career in terms of individual statistical output for St Kilda or North Melbourne rather than triple premiership Richmond you'd barely know who he is, let alone rank him as equivalent to Amon. But the fact that he's played in premierships at Richmond doesn't actually make him any more valuable to Port.

I have everything crossed that Port leave Graham well and truly alone. Even with all of his question marks, I'd rather take Rioli.

Graham is ****ing average, honestly Rioli should be worth more than that plodder.

Pick 27 for Amon locked in. Will be about 30 by the time it's used.

Easy straight swap for Rioli, no reason why this can't be done day 1 lunchtime. Eagles will want more but when a player wants to leave it looks about right.
Way overs, pick in the 40-50s more appropriate.

This has PSD written all over it.
If the Eagles want one cent more than pick 27 then the PSD is exactly where it should go. Laughable that they wouldn't take pick 27 and run if we were stupid enough to offer it.

Junior Rioli isn't fit to tie Amon's boots, by the way. Amon is ahead of Rioli for trade value on every conceivable measure as a footballer. He's younger, hes more experienced, he's better, he's less injury prone, he has less off-field issues, he's even getting paid more for what that's worth. If the pick we received for Amon isn't considered enough for Rioli then that means one of two things; West Coast are completely delusional, or the compensation pick we received for Amon was manifestly inadequate. Probably both, actually.

Compo picks are usually inadequate. The other point around complete delusion you are definitely correct. I wouldn’t pay 27 for 2 Rioli’s.
