I usually defend north supporters and even here you have every right to wear your home kit, in full, for your home game but that whole white jumper blue shorts thing has caused issues in the past for a clash. Not YOUR issues specifically but issues. Probably could just accept that.

It's not a whole white jumper, it's got blue stripes on it. Yes, it can cause issues, which is why we wear white shorts for the games where it causes issues.

As is your right to do, however when you inevitably do it against Geelong or whatever and it’s a mess it’ll be a ****ing nightmare for viewing
Yeah but we don't do that, do you understand? There's already a carveout. We wore white shorts when we hosted them this year, we wear a clash jumper when we play them away. This has never been an issue.

Did you see the "or whatever" bit.

Im not blaming you mate, im pointing out that sometimes clashes happen and its shit.

If you have EVER read any of my posts youd know i am staunch on "home team wears whatever they want".

It would be amusing to have a 'jumper clash' themed round as follows:

Essendon vs. Melbourne (standard jumpers)
Geelong vs. North Melbourne (standard jumpers)
Hawthorn (gold & brown stripes) vs. Brisbane Lions (Early Brisbane Bears BB maroon & gold jumper)
Carlton (standard navy jumper) vs. Fremantle (current purple jumper with white chevrons)
Sydney (current jumper) vs. Gold Coast (early years jumper with white numbers)
Richmond (black & yellow jumper with yellow number worn 1995-2004) vs. Adelaide (standard jumper)
Collingwood vs. Port Adelaide (standard jumpers with black backs)
West Coast Eagles vs. Western Bulldogs (both standard mainly royal blue jumpers)
St Kilda (standard jumper with black back) vs. GWS Giants (mostly charcoal clash jumper)

There could also be an NRL jumper clash round as follows:

Brisbane Broncos vs. Manly Sea Eagles (both teams in their mostly maroon jumpers)
Sydney Roosters vs. Melbourne Storm (both teams in their mainly navy blue jumpers)
South Sydney Rabbitohs vs. Canberra Raiders (both in their primarily green jumpers)
North Queensland Cowboys (dark blue, gold & white) vs. Parramatta Eels (royal blue with yellow jumper)
Cronulla Sharks vs. Gold Coast Titans (both in mostly light blue jumpers)
St George Illawarra Dragons (Steelers jumper) vs. Redcliffe Dolphins (standard red, white & gold jumper)
Penrith Panthers (black standard jumper) vs. Wests Tigers (black clash jumper with gold & white)

The 8th fixture would be any of the following three combinations:
Newcastle Knights (standard royal blue & red jumper) vs. NZ Warriors (royal blue, white, red & green standard jumper) with Canterbury Bulldogs bye
Canterbury Bulldogs (royal blue & white standard jumper) vs. Newcastle Knights (white with blue & red clash jumper) with New Zealand bye
NZ Warriors (white with blue, red & green clash jumper) vs, Canterbury Bulldogs (standard jumper), Newcastle Knights bye

When Collingwood goes back to the jumper they had worn for over 100 years, numerous clashes dissapear. They have caused the issue moving from predominantly white with black, to predominantly black with white.

Always being difficult when it comes to anything to do with jumpers.

Who cares. It's their home jumper.

That's my point. It wasn't for 100 years.
And if they want to change their home uniform to a rainbow hippie die with black and white polka dots, all power to them. That's their right as the home team.

I don't get you're argument. I couldn't give a rats if they want to change it to pink. My point is, it's caused numerous jumper clashes that weren't there before. Thought the thread was about "jumper clashes".

Interesting they changed to a more predominantly black jumper a few years after Port Adelaide joined the AFL. Insecurity perhaps?

No, the fact that a home team's uniform "caused jumper clashes" cannot by definition be true.

By definition jumper clashes can only ever be created by the fact that a designated away team does not have an appropriate jumper following the home team's entitlement to wear whatever they want.

OK. It's obviously a bit hard to comprehend. And I couldn't be bothered.

Yet it fixed the clashes that existed with North and Geelong…So no, all the problems don’t disappear they just move to different teams.

We have a selection of kits available that ensures we never clash with another team’s home kit.

When we are the home team, it is entirely the responsibility of other clubs to ensure they don’t clash with us.

I don’t see how that’s unreasonable at all.
