Short term pain for long term gain is all I will say.

I won't be convincing you so just go watch some Daicos highlights on YouTube it is a beautiful thing.

Don't need YouTube. Got very good memories of both Daicos & Rowdy.:)

Reporter "So tell us Josh how does it feel to be drafted by Collingwood"

JD "I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist
Like it doesn't exist
I'm gonna fly like a Magpie through the night, feel my tears as they dry
I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier"

Not all father-sons bear fruit. Brayden Shaw was the more highly drafted of the Shaw boys, but exited early from VFL/AFL football, while his cousins became top players at Collingwood and/or at rival clubs (depending on your judgement of Rhyce's time at Collingwood).

The prospect of another Daicos at the club is salivating. Gary Ablett Jnr, who hardly set the football world on fire in his teenage years, developed into an elite player. Players with genuine blood lines are worth a punt. The Bulldogs have done well with Billy Picken's son, Liam, who took years to display his true worth as a player. Both the fathers of Daicos and Brown were class players. Their sons had to be selected on their pedigree and a bit of junior footy form.

What are the heights of Daicos and Brown? I can't find them in the threads. Midget size or bigger?

EDIT: Found them myself.

Selection No. 57 – Josh Daicos

Position: Small forward
Height: 178cm
Weight: 69kg
Born: 26/11/1998
Recruited from: Oakleigh U18

And Callum. There is no entry for him on the CFC site. The best I could find was this from an August article: 'Now 178cm and 72kg, the midfielder/forward is proving to be a late developer just like his father, who didn’t hit his physical peak until his early 20s.

They are both somewhat vertically challenged. Hopefully they have so many other elite attribute that lack of height is inconsequential.

For all fans who started following the Pies after 1993 I fell sorry for you all, Daicos was truly a footy god, probably a peg below G Ablett, but still truly one of the Greats to ever play the game. Just hope to **** Little Daicos is blessed like his dad. Footy's going to fun again with this years picks, just have a feeling both Father sons are going to deliver us truly great times.

When did Liam Picken change his name to Marcus?
