Remains unsigned. Reportedly wants 4 years Essendon reluctant to offer a long term deal. Any interest from other clubs? Thoughts?

My take is Stringer doesn’t have a ton of leverage given he stacked on weight last year and has shown a proclivity for pinging hamstrings. If I was Essendon’s list manager I wouldn’t want to be paying top dollar for a guy with his record.

Yeah I wouldn't have thought he had much leverage. Asking for a four year deal is a bit of a red flag for a guy with his record. Has talent, but he is 27 now.

Another club would pick him up but not at the sort of price Essendon would ask.

Doubt we'd be asking for anything more than half of what we paid for him, which was 2x 2nds. Would probably settle for an early 3rd. The fact we won't give him the deal he wants suggests we don't view him as untouchable.

Oh right, you are one of those. Saying Essendon drive a hard bargain for departing players is not a meme, brah.
Essendon drive a hard bargain for required players like all clubs except it appears that Stringer is not really a required player anymore.

Never stop memeing, Journey wrote a song about it.

Hibberd for a late 2nd
Melksham for late 2nd
Ryder for pick 19 and 35
Fantasia for 3rd round pick

Essendon don't give up Daniher for pick 9 and future pick - Dodo is stupid asking for more
Dogs don't give up Dunkley for pick 8 and future pick - Dogs smart asking for more

Dodo hard to deal with meme in full swing, brah

2nd surely.
Still a gun.
4 years too risky. I'd prefer 2 with options for 3rd.
But if 3 straight is the deal breaker, i'd take it. we don't bat deep enough to lose a talent like his

Would happily give a second up to get him back at the Dogs assuming he's matured which honestly it seems like he has. Unfortunately Bevo appears to be a once bridges are burned they're well and truly gone sort of operator.

It is always funny when Essendon posters like to repeat the latest word they learned on masse. For a while it was 'narrative'.

Anyway, I offered my opinion since Ambrosia asked for thoughts.

I'd be sad to see him go.
We don't have many in the side that can be a breakaway midfielder at centre bounces then go forward for 2-3 goals.

If he wanted to leave, I'd want a good second round pick. But would anyone give him a four year deal with his recent history of hamstrings and (generally) coming back poorly from them? I'd love him to stay as he's a game changer and I think has a huge impact, but if he really wanted to leave and someone was offering something juicy (e.g. a late first from a contender), I'd consider it.

Anyone in our team who wants out and would get a decent return has to be considered seriously. Playing 3 pure tall forwards, plus having Waterman and Langford to rotate, he might not be as irreplaceable as he seemed last year.

It's also funny when posters ignore facts when presented to them just to continue shit posting.

You might want to take a look at yourself, stating that a 3rd rounder for Stringer was unusual by Essendon's trading standards gets the response of this is sh*t posting and trolling.
wtf are you on about? when did i state anything about Stringer?

Has he worked out yet he is either a very dangerous forward or a mediocre midfielder?
If he plays as a forward you'd offer 3 years for sure. If he still thinks he's going to be a midfielder... Essendon have a lot of other options.

Probably going foward after this year it would be more beneficial if he did leave
