People forget the Jack Dyer stand was extended in 1927 from its original state, so in totality it is not 100% original.
Also in its current full form, it was only used for senior league games until 1965 (38 years). This saw an era of just 3 flags compared to 10 others (2 prior to its gameday use and 8 after its gameday use).
The mcg former members was used for 77 years and saw 10 Melbourne premierships, decades of premierships, cricket, an Olympics and countless other events.

Completely agree with you on this issue, as do many others associated with the club, and in the suburban Richmond community.
The demolish JDS proposal, closely followed by 'buy a digital brick', then when we didn't, 'buy a digital brick to honour your passed away relatives'.
That's the level you are dealing with. Just another stop on the race to the bottom for $$.
