Really pleased to see this thread, an icon of the club who should always be remembered fondly.

Very flat the AFL didn’t make this our Round 2 fixture, it seemed like such a no brainer.

All those missed games in 2020 is a shame. He could have hit this milestone with us!
He played every game in 2020? (The Covid year)

If you mean his incident with the Vax, he did get the jab in time and would have played round 1. He missed round 1 due to an ankle injury but played the rest of the season.

Probably means only 17 games were played that year.

Remarkably durable player - missed 10 games in 2015 with a lower leg injury but played 20+ games in every other season with the exception of the 2020 Covid shortened season when he played all 18 games

By my count he missed only 23 of a possible 321 games. Somewhat cruelly he missed the 2 games he needed to reach 300 in 2024 due to form rather than injury

Seems to be settling in at North and all the best to him - hope he has a blinder in his 300th to help the Roos knock over Melbourne

Has the club acknowledge his milestone at all? Incredible the the lengths North have gone for his game considering he’s about to play his second game for them. He can be at another club but at the end lf the day he’s a premiership player, 2nd for goals and games at the club and an out right club legend. Poor form from the club so far.

I disagree TBH.
The celebration has nothing to do with us.

Anyway, we've got bigger things to worry about than ex-players milestones I would've thought.

We posted about his life membership at least.

Great tribute. Awkward for North to honour a guy that played 298/300 games for another club.

Hopefully WC honour JD when we play North either the Rd13 "away" game.

The beauty is that the social media/media don’t have to worry about those issue and the footy department can worry about our other issues.

cool little article.

its a shame he couldnt reach 300 games with the eagles in 2024.
Interesting they said he was presented with life membership earlier this month, when they count preseason games toward life membership and Simmo said he got it 2 seasons earlier.
