Can't wait to see the "Silver Fern" jumper.

Get the feeling it will look mostly like our traditional jumper but the white strip will be replaced with a large white fern. Anyone got the skills to post a couple of mocks/concepts?

Check out this thread. http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/st-kilda-in-new-zealand-jumper.972744/

Im pretty in love with these. But i doubt we'll stray too far from the traditional style, maybe with a little fern symbol on the white bit like someone did in that thread.

I love that first one, that is plain awesome! Hope the club looks at that as the design

It looks good but I would prefer not to play in a kiwi flag.

You have to keep in mind, that one of the main purposes of playing in New Zealand, is to build a membership base there. Anything that we can do to align St Kilda as the NZ AFL team is a positive.

A distinctive NZ Saints jumper is not only a great means to align with NZ, its another great merchandising item to generate sales and profits.

The club, local council, NZ Tourism and government will all be thinking of a wide variety of items, activities and events to promote our games and St Kilda. This is a sensational opportunity. This is marketing to a country of over four million. Yes they are rugby mad, but wouldn't you love them to have an interest in the AFL and for that interest to be St Kilda?

Yes indeed, I would just hate to be called the NZ saints. Fine, have a fern or something but it could well be a slippery slope. Somewhere in the middle will work, but I personally would not like a kiwi jumper to that extent.

I am all for the opportunity to strengthen out club, and I believe this will, but I am cautious as well.

The Tassie Hawks aren't doing too badly

Appreciate your caution. But feel that its better to be called the Kiwi Saints, when we play in NZ, still be based in Melbourne and have the large financial benefit from doing this, as Hawthorn does with Tassie.

A much better alternative than becoming the same as the Sydney Swans or Fitzroy.

There does not appear to be any mention of money. Do we know if NZ govt or Wellington council or the AFL are paying us anything to do this. The deal Hawthorn have with Tassie is quite lucrative I was hoping we could do as well as they have. Anybody know anything

I hope it's a big ground, would hate for a home game to favour Sydney. We need to put up good performances over there. :thumbsu:
They reckon it's the same size as the SCG. Hmmm...

Remember when we played in Tassie, and we just couldn't ever win a darn match. "Home Ground Advantage", my hairy butt.

Qantas sale to New Zealand on now.. If you are thinking about going to Anzac Day Game next year make sure you check it out. Sale ends 25th September. Go Saints!

Booked my plane tickets today :thumbsu:

Well done Zagg. I am already jealous. I'm not in a financial position to plan anything yet, but I finish paying off a bank loan early next year - I may review the situation then hoping that I can still organise it - if not will set myself for 2014 megaholiday in NZ
