I have been told that battery in the Ipod mini becomes worn out after a while (yr or so) im getting one today but is it worth it.

I am getting an iRiver H340 later this year before I go away. Maybe look at other brands before settling on an iPod Mini

Lol a year? Try a month. It's bloody useless the iPods. It had heaps of potential but the batteries are a joke.

If you're getting a new iPod mini (2G model) then you will have no battery problems. The new one's have batteries that will last about 18 hours b/w charges, and long-term battery wear is not an issue. It's more the older iPod models that have the battery problem (eg. the 3G iPod).

So yeah it is most definitely worth it.

Sorry I was using a bit of "Ipod speak" there. The 'G' refers to the 'Generation' model of the iPod mini (eg. 2G = 2nd Generation model). I'm assuming what you are referring to as '4G' is a 4 gigabyte mini iPod model (2G). A '4G' iPod is actually the 20 gigabyte 'regular' white model with the grey clickwheel.

But yeah like I said if you are getting a new mini then there are no battery problems.

new ipods are supposed to be better with batery life, the returns we get buy another brand altogether

My old 3G ipod has about 12 hours of life, so I don think they are that bad

Where im getting the ipod from is at NextByte in Rundal Mall in Adelaide. Its a whole new batch which are being sent to all stores to stock, but they are only 4Gig, does this mean a new 4Gig is actually a 3gen.

i think the new gen mini ipods come in either a 4 or 6 gig size with improved battery life

Just informed by someone at school today that the Gen3's have a replaceable battery, do you know about this.
