100% this, i dont get it, its stupid. My take is its an outdated tradition designed to show that the president is merciful and for the people. These days its more like a get out of jail card given to suit political agendas. Im glad we dont have this in Australia.

I dont agree with Pardons at all. I think its dumb. My take is it is nothing more than political gamesmanship to prevent Trump targeting his political enemies in retribution. I am not even convinced Trump will seek to do that anyway. You have to have evidence of crimes being committed and his DOJ looks like a pretty smart operator and im not sure she will throw her reputation under the bus to help Trump politically points score. But as I just said, im not even sure Trump will do that. He won, I think he has bigger fish to fry.

Just a followup to the J6 committee pardons

Impeachment is still a thing and im not sure congress will look upon anything like that favorably. Got to remember, republicans are now in post Trump era mode for the next election and they will be wary of seeking retribution as to how it could blow back on them come the next election cycles, especially the mid terms and the next POTUS election.

But if genuine crimes have been committed by anyone, including Trumps political rivals, a crime is a crime is a crime. I have no issues. Lots to play out here I think.

The question I though someone with such sincere concern for women would be, of the ~400 trans gender people in Aussie Jails (about 1%), how many are actually biological women held in men's prison.

But you never seem to care about those people you would call a woman (not to their face, you aren't that brave)
