who are the players to watch this season?...

Schuberg at cul will be dangerous this year, looks too have added some pace and muscle over the off season should be up there in the votes at the end of the year, could be a bit of a messiah. Must've got some extra pace from chasing the ladies round Paddy's all summer :D

Sanson take a pay cut...... i dont think so!

Apparently he did, for a locals incentive scheme. Guess football isnt just about money anymore.
But im pretty sure joels playing for free.

Heard cul only did well agaist barny caus barny was playing a second grade team basically, apparently the cul coach klemkes gameplan was about as good as the one his father used when coaching henty under 14s.
Culcairn isnt a contender, got some handy players and recruits BUT dont think they will trouble good sides

Im not too sure how much of an impact he will have. Yes he might of put so extra muscle on, but we it comes down to playing good consistant football muscle isnt everything! Just look at Culcairns coach matty klemke. He hasnt got the body of schuburg but he is consistant and is much more damaging. If muscles doesnt bring the ladies to schuberg and he gets fit from chasing them all the time, then whats the point?

Any truth that Walla contacted TAB sportsbet to get a market for premiership odds framed? Seems as though they have done some excellent recruiting, with the obvious gun in Hotrod or Whitehot or whatever...

B_O_B, the Berg will go alright. I believe B&F Nth Alb res '06. Can play, very, very fit. attacking backman, capable of kicking plenty of goals

Anyone know If Joyce from Corowa has gone to Walbundrie with Osborne & Dickins?

They seem to be going a bit unnoticed at the moment. Plenty of talk about them in jan/feb, but a few recent posts suggest they wont make the top four let alone win a flag. Although it has shown in recent years a dominant ruckman can take you a long way! With all Hentys recruiting and spending, have they picked up any big blokes? It seemed a hassle for them last year.

hey UN, see you are gettin' around on two threads! busy person you are.
no offence to Schuberg, dont know the bloke but heard he will be handy for the good ol' Maroon and Blues.

hope he doesn't go the same way as a previous Reserves B & F at North Albury, Shane Wardrop!. Lurch is a good mate of mine but geez, he would eat a forward pocket for breakfast if he made a comeback.

Bosley played for the lions a few years back, not sure whether he would still get a senior game at his age.I dont think he played at all last year, would be a bit long in the tooth.I wonder if Joel Klemke got what he was asking, the swampies will be hoping for good crops on the land they have leased or they will be buggered.:(

 Bos has played for a few years at Cul, played majority of last season. Don't right him off. People might be underestimating Cul this year, good recruits and are working really hard on the training track. New faces around the club to help out, could make all the difference.:thumbsu:

Holbrook have some breking news as Justin Way has been transferred to Benalla with work so will be a loss for them.Good news though is his replacement is in the top handful of players in the Coreen league. Not a huge fan of the league but this bloke can definitely play.Name a bit later in the week as he is yet to inform his club.
His name is hayden lanyon think thats his surname key position player with wahgunyah last year works for elders someone must be invovled with the club apparently work related would walk into any OM side

The word is that Sanson has taken a pay cut for Joel Klemke - apparently some Henty sponsors were not impressed with the $$$ Klemke was asking. Will this cause some friction at Swampie land?
I dont no how true that is knowing bug and the love he has for money henty have spent more on keeping there players than what most clubs have spent on recruits

Your right, he would eat a forward pocket for breakfast, dont reckon he'd be able to catch him though. Seen a few big macs lately has big Lurch!!:D

Do you think Tom Hickey will do any damage this year in the hume??

Will be interesting, always got third backman behind Coutta and Way during last stint, but still good player. Lucky landing the bloke mentioned from Wahgunyah if true, good luck to the Brookers.:thumbsu:

Where are you Big Al, was that the case? Why would Barny play a second grade team this close to the season opener?

Barny had 40 players on the day, rewarding blokes who have commited to doing a full preseason training, still had a lot of their ones running around with the twos players. Cul's midfield had a field day, maybe some of the old legs in Barny's middle have caught up with them:D still, Cul looked good combining well and full of run. I think a few of the earlier threads thrashing Klemke may have to reassess as the season progresses

Care to expand on that Tron...

Yes, Please enlighten us TRON, there are quite a few sides that have spent up big time, this is a very bold statement!! Henty must be made of money if this is the case as they have a few notable recruits from Wagga way as well. I'd hate to be on there fundraising commitee, or the accountant for that matter.

Where did you get your info GK?

How has Jindera settled following the departure of big hooter, also what is the word on merger talks between Jindera/Walla or Cul/Walla, might explain Walla spending all there cash on recruits if their not going to be around in the future.

Walla won't merge with either, Walla's main rival is Cul and just couldn't see the deal getting done with Jindera.

Walla won't merge with anyone FULL STOP!!

Well done Tron but as mentioned he still hadnt informed his former club so maybe a little secrecy can be good at times out of respect.Anyone with any knowledge on their employment could have worked it out.

A bit misinformed there Tron.If Sanson had an opportunity to recruit another player i'm sure he would take a pay cut.A lot of good clubs paid players do it to get someone else if it means getting them closer to that elusive premiership.Mark being a coach wouldnt do all that work to miss out on a good player and finish 3rd or 4th again to keep a few bucks. His aim is a reward you would do for nothing...a flag

Well said switch. A choice of a premiership with your mates V's a handful of cash......I know what I'd prefer.
