Great news. Dear returns about round 7.
Gee we need him too.
That’s round 7 in the VFL. I’d imagine he’ll spend a couple there first minimum?

Round 9 or round 10 if were being ultra conservative with his conditioning. Potentially back after the 3 game stretch against the bottom 4 teams.Great news. Dear returns about round 7.

I would have preferred the word "confident", if I'm being totally honest...Will Day (foot) - 3-4 months
"He's had surgery, which was successful. Now, we'll start his rehab process which is going to be lengthy but we've got some confidence now that this will help him return to the field. We're hopeful that he will return back to playing towards the end of this season."

Not ‘via’. Round 7 OF the AFL. The week we play West Coast I think? I think it suggests that’s the week we want to manage his minutes in the VFL.Report is confusing for Calsh. At the start it talks about R7 return via AFL but then later goes on to say managed minutes in the VFL.

Then why not just say he's returning in round 4 or 5 of the VFL?Not ‘via’. Round 7 OF the AFL. The week we play West Coast I think? I think it suggests that’s the week we want to manage his minutes in the VFL.
Because that's confusing to people who don't know where the VFL is up to. So to say, in Rd 7 he'll play VFL and move off the injury list. Similar to how Blank and Butler moved off the injury list in Rd 5. They are in full program and available for selection, but we are selecting them in VFL untill they build match fitness and form. Dear will be the same, but I doubt we'll wait for form, we will just gradually increase the minutes till he has enough under his belt and he'll come straight in.Then why not just say he's returning in round 4 or 5 of the VFL?
He'll kick 2 in round 9.If all goes according to plan Dear will be back in the senior team around Round 10. Realistically dont expect him to make much impact until Round 12-13.
He might come in round 11Dear is slated to play down in Wonthaggi next week.
Another VFL game after that, and if all goes perfectly, should be back in the AFL side against Melbourne.
Will be interesting if they select him to travel up to Darwin on a 5 day break after his first game, I'd think they'll have a good hard look at that
Our fitness and medical team have done a stellar job for going on 5 years now. It’s a pretty heathy looking list really (ex Day and Lewis). No injuries at all to our depth.
Scrim played down at the hangar on SaturdayNo mention of scrim so he's available right?!

It's only Tuesday. Why would you say that out loud?Best news to come out of the weekend. We seem to be losing a player per match to either suspension or injury or both.
Problem is it's always been injuries to players we can't afford to have out. You look at other clubs injury list which might be long and than you look at who they are it's generally a bunch of depth players who don't move the needle. Geelong have a bigger injury list than us but only Kolo Guthrie and Bruhn you would consider needle movers if at all. Day, Lewis and Dear all definitely change things. Our fitness and medical team have done a stellar job for going on 5 years now.
