Also add in the fact the scum haven’t announced Turd as coach yet ? Might sway things
Yze and Dordoro seen sitting with each other for large periods during todays NAB league, has set tongues wagging.

Surely we offer picks then to make them want to take the deal - along with rolling out the gold trimmed red carpet for our new lord and savior Bowes.
Its the convincing Bowes, not GC, that we need to do.

These hypothetical trades are done assuming that Adelaide give Pick 5 for Rankine.

Trade 1:

Hawks:
In: Pick 5, Pick 7, Bowes
Out: Pick 6, Future 2nd, Future 3rd

Suns:
In: Pick 6, Hawks future 2nd, Hawks future 3rd
Out: Pick 5, Pick 7, Bowes

Trade 2:

Hawks:
In: Pies future 2nd
Out: Mitchell

Pies:
In: Mitchell
Out: Future 2nd

Trade 3:

Hawks:
In: Meek, Pick 72
Out: Pick 50, Pick 61

Freo:
In: Pick 50, Pick 61
Out: Meek, Pick 72

Trade 1 - This way Suns still have a top 10 pick and they get Bowes off the books & future picks for their academy kids next year.

We get 2 top 10 picks potentially McKenzie/Clark & Humphries

Trade 2 - If Mitchell really does want to move on & Pies are keen, I think this is fair price for Mitchell

Trade 3 - Freo will likely want more but given the lack of game time he has had with 5-6 years on an AFL list, I think it's about right.

After trade/free agency period

Gain: Pick 5, Pick 7, Bowes, Meek, Amon, Pies future 2nd, Pick 72

Loss: Pick 6, Future 2nd, Future 3rd, Mitchell, Pick 50, Pick 61

Draft hand: Pick 5, Pick 7, Pick 24, Pick 72

Pick 5: McKenzie or Clark

Pick 7: Humphries

Pick 24: Best available player

Pick 72: F/S for Lawrence

Thoughts?

So the first job then is to convince Bowes that Hawks is the club that he has the best future.
Yep if we can convince him to come to us we have all the bargaining power unless they are really happy to keep him, which sounds unlikely

Haven't been reading this thread fanatically the past few days so apologies if it has been mentioned but isn't it funny the AFL are finally okay with these salary dump deals and coincidentally it is the same year the Suns seem to be completely cooked cap wise?
Not this year, as they have the 650k that Rankine is walking away from. Next year they will have at least Anderson and Rowell as priority re-signings so pre-emptive salary dump deals on marginal players like Fiorini and Atkins.
Agree. Add to that Flanders on 500k (apparently?).

We could help them clear over one million in cap space, whilst adding two ready-made talents to our list AND adding another top ten pick.

I'd be happy to lose our 2022 and 2023 second rounders at a minimum.

We'd be mad not to.
Regarding Flanders they will want to keep him, as he and Hollands are next in line for midfield minutes, with Fiorini moving on. However if we took Atkins (still 3 x 500k)o_O we would likely have a deal!

Atkins 😂😂😂 such bad list management

Is Rankine money not being used up on
JJ 3 years 650k...

This probably isn't legal under the current rules. But I wonder if we aren't as keen on Bowes as Geelong are, and if Bowes himself is keen on Geelong if we could on-trade him (still paying all or part of his salary) in exchange for something from Geelong.

Basically, we get pick 7 from Gold Coast for freeing up their cap, and something else from Geelong for getting them a player they couldn't otherwise afford to acquire.

We help our mortal enemy and probable Premiership team ?

Pretty sure a player can only be traded once with in a trade window. I assume all these by laws would be in the player / club agreement.
