Davidson MOM for us at the moment, stepped up to this level and doesn't look out of place. Brilliant. Franjic getting carved up, 2nd goal was his fault, wtf is he doing following the ball out there when we have 5 guys covering already. So amateur, A-league defending at its finest. Good cross though, give him credit for that. We need to get Bresc on the ball a bit more. If we just get a bit more composure, spot up Bresc between the midfield/defense of Chile, get him to spay the ball out wide and instruct Oar or Leckie to knock some in we can knick one. Oar hasn't settled at all, the guy must've been chomping at his bit because he's been all over the place. Needs to calm down a bit. Leckie has settled in alright, his pace and power can worry them if he gets in behind.

So i see it's not just with the AFL that Bigfooty spends all it's time complaining about the refs. So tedious.
It's probably more valid for the soccer, most refs are probably paid off. I'd be surprised if this one wasn't.

I feel bad for being harsh on Oar. He made some dumb decisions but he also started to make some smart runs and dinked in a nice ball. Hopefully they were just nerves, a bit like the anxious defenders, and they can realise they actually look good going forward and with possession in the middle. Definitely a cause for optimism.

Actually agree with what Culina's saying, we need to get a lot more physical against this Chilean side. Far too often we let players get passed us without putting in a challenge.

Encouraging that they bounced back after looking so outclassed early. I was amazed how good the cross in to Cahill was... watching Oar's passes lowered my expectations.

Also I love how much the commentary improves during the passages where Craig Foster isn't speaking.
It's like his primary focus is emphasising that he knows the players personally. Needs to know that he's working with a large bandwagon audience who won't know who "Jason" is.

He's always had this problem, lacks end product.

Troisi would be my choice, MV bias is showing through though.

This game could be all tied up right now for 10 seconds of Tommy Oar composure.

Ref's been fine only one shoulder to shoulder against Leckie that was rubbish. They're a very slick, fast turning and creative side in the final third and turn the pace up a bit in their final third.Doesn't suit Jedinak and he's looked a bit Queen Maryish on occasion,in fact him and Milligan have borne the brunt of Chilean numbers 20m outside our box.Mille also could have challenged more forcefully for the header before the first goal.We can be very satisfied with the half;great goal(dunno why you'd have a midget marking Cahill inside the box).Everything to play for in the second half.Ange will have them trying to retain possession a little more to save their legs for the last 15-20 where we'll have a go to steal it if we've kept them scoreless.
Either way Mark Schwarzer can have a 2 course feed:a bag of dicks with some humble pie.The zimmerframers he wanted in the team would've been 5 goals down by now against the speed of thinking and movement the Chileans have shown.
Go You Socceroooooos!!

heck me the SBS broadcast looks a bajillion times better than the footy

Don't even mention the AFL in the same vein as the World Cup, pretty sure they started filming the WC in HD back in 1998, yes 16 years ago, and the AFL still can't

Davidson has been immense. Fantastic game from him. If you could bet on it I would be loading up on Halloran for Oar for first sub. Halloran is perfect for this game and Oar has been surprisingly woeful so far.
