I think if Lobb goes, then he has to be used forward, even though I think he is a defender.
Amiss is our real hope there, he needs a proper pre-season and a summer in the gym

For mine, he’s actually really good up there and the only thing holding him back is confidence / experience up front. It’s something that should get better the more he plays up there
Agree 100%.
He’s not afraid of a scrap. May tried to be a flog and push him off, Griffin gave as good as he got .
He marked a few good ones. Back him in to continue to improve.
He’s a teammate first mentality v Bailey Fritsch who just loves the goals. Train him out of it, and Logue can go far.
Treacy is still only 19 (turning 20 in August). He has lots of development and improvement to come.

Lobb was useless last night. It wasn’t a night for forwards.

That’s wrong though. Forwards shouldn’t be the number 1 or 2 target in their second year or at 19 years old. That’s ludicrous.
St Kilda have forwards around King who has been allowed to develop. What do we have? A Fyfe on one leg and Tabs who just can’t consistently stay on the park

Him and our own Bailey are an interesting comparison tbh. Banfield has become too selfish in front of goals, probably because he sees it as his way of staying in the team, where Logue through poor confidence is nowhere near selfish enough

It wasn’t a night for Freo forwards

Anyone who actually thinks Logue makes a good forward are kidding themselves. He's a really good defender that JLo is using to try patch a hole in our forward line.

He is a very unreliable shot on goal. Wayne Carey was kicking goals from outside 50 every game. Logue can't kick goals from 15 metres out on a slight angle. He was ordinary up forward last night.

Trouble is Cox, Pearce and Logue can’t play together.
For example last night Gawn played predominantly forward. Logue would take him, and would get thrashed.

Wayne Carey was playing forward since he was 6. Logue was ordinary kicking for goals. I think he currently makes an ok forward with potential to be a good forward

he had an ok game in the derby....

kicked a 30 metre pass to sean darcy, who marked and kicked a set shot goal

then that passage of play in the 2nd half which started with a mundy handpass. Logue got that mundy hand pass, runs on the wing, kicks it to frederick.

Frederick then fumbles the ball, walters sweeps it up, passes to frederick who runs and goals

Y'all are acting way too prematurely on Logue and some of the comments on Pearce are downright disrespectful. I agree that Logue will probably not achieve the same levels of success as a defender, but our defence can't fit him in so we need to get creative with Logie Bear.

Realistically you would want a minimum of one goal a game from him for the forward experiment to be called a success and that is definitely possible. He has all the physical attributes for it to work including an elite vertical leap, strength and pace, and contested marking. Anyone can learn to kick for goals and with a proper preseason up forward, I am confident he can excel.

He’s a fit guy too. Just don’t want him going into the ruck, especially come finals. Hope JL is realistic there and consider Meek against the bigger types. Unfair on Griff tbh. Play him forward, lead up the ground and he ll make 50/50 contests.

He’s also got a great knack for bringing the ball to ground in contests where he can’t mark. He’s got that ball awareness from being a defender—no reason why he can’t develop comparable forward craft with time and training. I definitely agree it’s worth persisting

Hahaha, comparing to Wayne Carey. Please check yourself out..

He put another string to his bow Saturday night taking part in ruck contests to give Onions a break. Did well enough and was not intimidated or pushed around by Natanui.
Not that Griff will ever make a ruckman, but he is becoming more and more valuable to our team.
We need to sign him on again.

When we have to go for the long kick up the line we have to make sure at least one of Lobb, Tabs or Darcy is there to contest it. But I think Logue is equally as good as any of these options. If Logue can take that mark, Lobb and Tabs can stay deeper in the forward half. Better structure all round I reckon.
