The level is going up.
There’s no real new kids coming thru for the season coming but we’ll see em for following season and then there’ll be a steady stream coming through.

Gil said by 2030 they’d be the highest paid comparatively.
It’ll happen, the TV revenue is only going in one direction and the fact is the interest in Womens footy shows in participation at community level and that’s what is making the local clubs and pathways stronger.
Maria rioli in this years draft , curious if she’s keen to come to melb or not

Sydney (18th) and Port (17th) both in their 2nd seasons and Richmond not scheduled to play either over that time.

We play 9 out of the top 13 clubs from last season and Hawks (15th), Looks a pretty hard draw

We finished top 4 and have improved our list I’d expect a tougher than easier draw

Even Hawthorn may improve considering they got Emily Bates and Greta Bodey last year. Not the only thing they need of course, but they handed us a tough draw.

Anyway, it won't matter that much if we improve this year. We can match our efforts last year if we lose the first two games against Brisbane and Adelaide, and then get on a roll for the rest of the season.

Lions have been knocked around losing 3 good players ,, did their FF go to the saints in the end ?

Yeah, she ended up going to St Kilda. She’s one of the best (if not the best) KPFs in the league, so Brisbane are considerably weaker. However, this happened to Brisbane before and they bounced back from it, so we’ll have to see how this impacts them

If we are losing to Adelaide at home again we probably haven't improved from last year. It's a decent draw, we don't play 17th and 18th but we also don't play Melbourne who won the comp. Free hit in round 1 against against Brisbane, who will still be very hard to beat at home despite losing a few players, but then every game becomes must win.

Steph Williams pulling the pin on the season for personal reasons. Bit surprised by that hasn’t she been running out with Port Melbourne this VFLW season?

She’s a battler tbh , good luck to her , don’t think W footy at this Level is her thing
The wheels, being over 170 and also the environment and support network we got for talented indigenous people, it was worth a shot but I agree with ya.
Not making a strong return after the knee might’ve taken her from a maybe to a needs to use more dedication prospect.
It’d be good to get in another mature age who’s hungry for a shot at it after missing a couple of drafts even only for the training.

VFLW Grand Final on at the moment - half time Port lead Collingwood by 4 pts, having led by 10 into the wind that qtr. Em Harley took a diving mark on the 50, and intelligently gave a que to Nayley Borg to lead up and managed to spot her up for Borg to convert. Probably the nicest play of the Qtr. Collingwood got one back.

Port with the breeze coming up in the 3rd. Port tackling everything that moves!

5 weeks to the start of the AFLW!

After dominating the first half of the 3rd, Collingwood one entry and goals - Collingwood by 2

At 12mins gone, Port's Frederica Frew combined twice with Jessie Wilson for a cracker of a goal - Port back by 4

After a tense last couple of minutes exclusively in the Pies forward line, Port went in at 3qtr time with that 4pt lead, having wasted a fairly good breeze advantage that quarter. So it will be up to great defense, tackling pressure again like the 2nd qtr - sensing Collingwood lifting though.

If we can get the ball in the hands of Harley, Caruso and Borg, good things can happen.

AFL wise, Caruso looks a player, really like the highlights of Jessie Williams, and McKellar can take some good marks in defence.
