I wouldn't worry all that much about injuries to be honest. Vanishingly rare in exhibition-type games. Nobody's running at 100%, nobody is pushing through discomfort in the closing stages, nobody is putting body into contests. It's gonna be like most pre-season games, a shootout with 5 non-b23 players running out of their skin like their life depends on it.

Banners to have 25+5.

I see where North Melbourne are looking to sell games, maybe to either Fremantle or West Coast.
I thought that the AFL were against any Melbourne based team selling games tofootball states, such as WA and SA.
I will be interested to see if it actually happens.

North are really going to need the money (as one of the small Melbourne teams) after their Tassie money disappears. The AFL knows North is likely to need their financial help in the future if they don’t get these games sold. I think it is areal chance of happening.

When have North not needed the assistance from the VFL/AFL.

im sure it will get lots of interest.

But it not a real match when upto 4 or more of the players on indigenous team will be our own team mates. more of an in house match than a warm up agaisnt opposition

With some of our key players missing from our team it wont even be able to try strategies etc.

So yes will be nice to see it played as WHO CARES WHO WINS. stay safe dont overstretch yourselves make it a social game. see the indigenous players able to excite as a team as they do often when playing in their usual home teams

I think it would be the AFL's idea.

12 in Perth and 10 away was tough but adding gather round to our travel burden isn't fair. The AFL will find a way for us to get an extra game in Perth each year.

Four teams have to travel to Perth twice every year any way. If North do a deal with the AFL and state government where they get 2 million dollars to play twice a year at Optus as the home team it's a good result for everyone until NM start playing finals. When that happens it becomes difficult to justify to their fans.

What needs to be justified to their 39 fans.
Make money or go broke.
Welfare is killing this country 🤣

What makes you think the AFL will actually GIVE the Dockers anything!!
Never done us any favours in our 30 live so far.
They give plenty to their VFL clubs though.

Keeping alive VFL clubs that have been scraping the bones of their Rses on the gravle is killing the AFL.
There are still club that were unfinancial pre 87 that are still living off AFL hand outs, regardless of what the Melbourne media will tell you.

Looking forward to the all stars game, at least they won’t be trying to hurt our players like some wannabe weagles “hard men” of the past.
All stars team won’t have the best rucks (Finlayson looks the likely candidate) but Pearce and May is a pretty formidable duo down back for Amiss and Treacy.

I think we are a chance. We will likely never match membership with WC but I think we averaged more attendance for home games than WC last year. Hopefully this makes us as financially attractive as WC to North.
Simon Garlick said at Freo Annual Members Meeting that our 2024 attendance rate of 79% of membership topped the League.
