Where is Jimmy Bartel? His podcast with Eddie is quite good as he provides a strong counter argument. Sloane seems too softly spoken and agreeable for this type of show.

Didn't mind the new Monday version of the show, Mclure just needs to dial back the smugness.
The Tues show struggled (I never liked the Wed version) but will watch again next week when the season proper has more or less started.

Hird and Sloane were both okay, Eddie was his normal Not-Listen-Interruptus mode.
Was a little surprised to hear Sloane, a former player rep, saying the AFL needs to go hard on player drug enforcement.
Couldn't have been much of an advocate for the players during meetings with the AFL

Hirdy is a good media performer but dropping that line about Harley Reid possibly moving back to Victoria was someone looking to be a bit edgy and get a headline but not really having the material.
Of course he might be right but it was a soft ball get. He will be alright but he is a bit out of form in a media sense.

Him and Sloane were both very awkward especially in the shadow of a big personality like Eddie. The second show always felt surplus and now with half the cast moving to channel 7 I have a feeling the whole thing is on its last legs.
Obviously I am a big fan of Sloane but I feel like he is a better fit for a lifestyle/ getaway type show.
Footy talk shows are a crowded market this year. The shows have to bring something strong to the table otherwise they will get lost.
Generalised footy analysis without an opinion won't cut it either.
