Not sure if it is smart from him that is a wait and see but i can see the logic in it. 10 year deals obviously gives him all the security in the world but might not equal more money in the long run. Play these next 4 years and hope to really cash in as a free agent could very well give him more money, more flexibility over his career and also a chance at more success.I truly cannot comprehend that St Kilda offered this guy so much money and that he turned it down.
Perfect situation too, you're a mostly anonymous player at a club without many passionate supporters. it's barely leaving a proud old parochial club when they're down on their knees. you could left and no one would care.
Truly *ing nuts, even if you were dumb as * (which he may very well be) and didn't invest it you'd probably be able to retire from all work once your footy's done. Jesus.
It would have to be over 3 years - not 10.$17m is a lot. Even Chief would get out of bed for that.
And would allow him to watch his soap operasIt would have to be over 3 years - not 10.

If he makes more than 17 million in his career I will be shocked. he's a nobody, acting like this is a totally normal tabled contract is nuts. Not sure if it is smart from him that is a wait and see but i can see the logic in it. 10 year deals obviously gives him all the security in the world but might not equal more money in the long run. It is a risk but not an awful one.
Maybe maybe not. Contracts are only going to keep going up and 1.7 is going to become more regular. If he makes more than 17 million in his career I will be shocked. he's a nobody, acting like this is a totally normal tabled contract is nuts.
No toll roads, better beaches, prettier woman, better weather, better traffic, and less chance of being killed by ethnic gangs.
So understand now that it was his agent who came up with that 1.7 mill 10 year amount .... that's what it would take .... of course a known journo runs it in another direction .... not the first time
Good luck Finn .... new contract takes him to FA
Reality is that these are the type of offers Saints need to make to even be considered. Thats ok, not everyone can be a big club. I’m proud to support a battler club. You can't deny that there just endless speculation about different monster offers coming out of StKilda. It's ok to be a bit embarrassed about the level of desperation there is about not signing a big fish.
Hardly the zinger you think it isIt’s ok to be embarassed by not winning a flag despite being the AFL trying their best to hand it to you on a platter.
Even if the VFL and the NEAFL were commensurate (which they arent) you have ignored the crux of my argument about being handed it on a platter by the afl for commercial reasons. Plastic as they come and a failure.Hardly the zinger you think it is
Your club hasn’t won one since it was a 12 team state league. About 50 years before we showed up.
Technically the Giants have also won a state league with the NEAFL.
Actually at the time of your win you could call the VFL a part time state league.Even if the VFL and the NEAFL were commensurate (which they arent)
Hardly. We had a ton of picks no doubt in those first two years but we started from an empty locker room.you have ignored the crux of my argument about being handed it on a platter by the afl for commercial reasons. Plastic as they come and a failure.
Overly generous starting hand that has created a very advantageous cycle. Don’t deny this.Should I? Eh **** it I’m bored.

NEAFL was too by the time we won it.
So yeah comparing the two isn’t a stretch.

Umps did us little favours as well. They could have easily helped us if that’s what the AFL wanted.
Plenty of opportunities to trade and go after our players, in fact that was the joke we would lose all the stars straight away. But didn’t.
Don’t be bitter our supposed easy pickings didn’t go south.
Our only mistake that the Saints took advantage of was moving on a local in Steele who never wanted to leave. Been a great player for your club.
The AFL wanted us to be competitive, no more. They want the big Vic clubs winning, and the odd Vic “Fairytale” as it works for their very Vic media.
But I do wander what your excuses were before the Giants existed. You obviously blame us for your failures the last 12 years, what was the excuse before hand?
and yet Finn re-signed with us. So what’s that make the Saints?Overly generous starting hand that has created a very advantageous cycle. Don’t deny this.
Club is just nothing, no culture in the middle of shithole western Sydney. Created to for the sole purpose of a bigger tv rights deal.
No excuses: our best teams have pulled up just short when it mattered most unfortunately. We we will endure. It’s what we do. And when we do finally win one it will actually mean something to a lot of people, not a few self interested suits at AFL house.
I’ve seen this bit of spin going around a bit, that the number Morris and others ran with was made up, and not an actual offer by the Saints…So understand now that it was his agent who came up with that 1.7 mill 10 year amount .... that's what it would take .... of course a known journo runs it in another direction .... not the first time

So it’s strange that Finn himself didn’t say the offer was not as big as suggested, and instead said that an offer as big as that brings a lot of pressure….
