Re: ATT: Fev haters

what i found funny was how desperate fev was and how hard he was chasing and trying to tackle. i know he has his moments during the season where his chasing is ok, but this probably surpassed all of that. I'd be pissed if it was a collingwood player, that it takes a personal milestone to be within reach for him to get desperate about his footy..

Re: ATT: Fev haters

As they said on the sunday footy show, Why wouldnt they double team Fev.

They know its Carltons only forward option so it makes sense.
and they also said Fev had four shots at goal in first half and he should have been paid a free kick in the goal square in the last quarter but everyone bagging the hawks coach

Re: Hawthorn fans who actually went to the game

We should'nt be talking about Fev " what could have been " but about Buddys fantastic achievment Congrats Buddy love

Re: ATT: Fev haters

I think more than anything it's to rub it in the nose of the Carlton fans who cannot help but say Hawthorn should have LET him destory Croad's confidence by kicking 8 on him in a half, as if 7 wasn't bad enough.

Tough luck for Fev, but did you see how hard he worked in that final quarter as oppossed to the rest of the game? Heck I wish Buddy would work as hard as Fev did in that final quarter.

Yeh i dont blame the Hawks at all...there not in the bissness of letting the other team kick goals....But either way....Fev also had his chances....... i actuly blame the umpire....that free kick in the last few seconds of the game could of been payed to Fev....and nobody would of cared.

Re: Carlton Supporters Complaining about not gifting Fevola his 100

This is like that bloke going back through all the cricket scorebooks from the 1930's trying to find an extra 4 runs for Bradman so he can have an average of 100. Fact is, he didn't average 100. Bloody close and bloody good, but didn't average 100.

Fevola kicked 99 for the season. He could have kicked an extra one any time in the last 22 games, but he didn't. End of story. It's not an anti-Fev hate thing or an anti-Carlton thing, it's just the historical record of what happened.

As much as I'm loathe to agree with a Collywobbler, you are spot on mate. His chasing, running and desperation last night were plain for all to see. Why can't the goose do that EVERY SINGLE game?

If he did, he'd kick 130.

Re: Carlton Supporters Complaining about not gifting Fevola his 100

Totally diagree, I would fully support Carlton preventing Buddy kicking goals. Its not about preventing milestones its preventing goals which is what the game is about.
Who are you trying to fool here? They weren't trying to prevent him kicking goals, they were trying to prevent him reaching the milestones.

Re: Hawthorn fans who actually went to the game

I wanted him to earn it ... but really couldn't care less that he didn't get it.

Was quite amusing how much extra effort he was putting in to reach his personal goal ... hopefully he can do that every week to help the team achieve it's goals.

His spats in the last quater were funny though aye!

Fev was the laziest player on the ground in the first half. He didn't deserve it for that alone. It was a great effort to get as close as he did in the 2nd half and it was very interesting to see that he can chase and tackle if he wants too!

Re: Carlton Supporters Complaining about not gifting Fevola his 100

Anyone got any Tissues i cant stop crying poor poor Fev, poor poor blue's. Cry babbies this time they didnt get what they wanted poor poor spoilt little brates. Where was Uncle Dick and he's chequebook? oh i'm sorry hes saving up for a holiday at barwon. MEMO all the spoilt cry babbies out there football isn't playing dress ups with your dolls so get over it. :)

Collingwood supporter masquerading as a Hawk, surely.

Re: Hawthorn fans who actually went to the game

New lower level? You mean the loss. This has been our best season for not getting blown away for 6 years. It is hardly a new lower level.

Fair call

Regardless of the result last night, Carlton have had a very successful season, given where they were this time last year.

One thing I would have been disappointed by if I was a Blues fan was Fevola's work rate late into the game last night, where has that pressure been the other 21 rounds in the season?

Almost made me bring up my dinner.

There could not have possibly been a more appropriate outcome to the night. The Karma Police strike again! :D

Re: Carlton Supporters Complaining about not gifting Fevola his 100

So west coast were "spiteful" last week having 18 on buddy all day? Where was worsfolds spirit of the occasion? Buddys family all there to see it too.
There was nothing unsportsman like about how the Eagles handled Buddy last week. There was no 3 or 4 tagging or any other tactic that was way out of the ordinary.

Re: Carlton Supporters Complaining about not gifting Fevola his 100

im dissapointed Fev didnt get it but you cant blame Hawthorn, perhaps 3 or 4 on 1 in the last qtr was a little extreme as they wouldnt have done that in any other game against him but they dont have a obligation to give him the 100.
If you want someone to blame, blame a couple of the Carlton players. They had no chance of winning yet players like Gibbs were snapping shots over their shoulders in the last when they should have looked for Fev. I know u shouldnt alter ur style of play but really, they had nothing to gain from not passing to Fev in the last.
When Murphy handballed backwards to Fev when he had someone on him was classic but, Fev almost got it as well.
I hate Carlton alot but it would have been nice for him to get the ton and he did well talking to Christi after the game.

Re: ATT: Fev haters

He looked like he was going to cry at the end of the game.

Still seeing fev run around like a headless chicken in the last 5 minutes was funny.

Its hard to know what that guy could do after AFL.

No-one is claiming that Fev did kick 100 goals.

What we are claiming is that Hawthorn's coach deliberately went out of his way to stop him getting his 100th goal during the last quarter of a 70-point blowout. That is petty and spiteful.

To compare it to the Bradman situation, imagine if Bradman's last innings had been during the last over of the fifth day of a test ending in a draw, and the bowler deliberately pitched his deliveries a foot outside off stump so he wouldn't have a chance to play at them. Had that happened, it would have been called poor sportsmanship -and that is exactly what Clarkson is guilty of here.

Re: ATT: Fev haters

It was sensational!!! The disappointing thing was if i was a carlton supporter i would be asking why has fev never chased after his opponent so hard instead of sulking and arguing with umpires.Says it all really about the bloke. Fev 1st. Team 2nd
you idiot, Fev chased a lot last night. He may not do it in most games but u cant say crap like that. Obviously didnt watch the game

Re: ATT: Fev haters

Clarkson's a tosser for not playing 1 on 1 footy in the dying minutes. I know we were going to Fev no matter what, but where's his sense of occasion?

Couldn't agree more. Sad and pathetic, with absolutely NOTHING on the line.

Re: Carlton Supporters Complaining about not gifting Fevola his 100

In cricket, even in a drawn game, the opposition will do everything possible to nor allow 100 scored against them from an opposition batsman. Its called keeping their pride, making sure that the environment is tough, and not letting the opponent get anything for free.

They'll bring the field up, try and tie it down.

Its called making it as tough as possible for their opponents, and not gifting them anything.

Should Hawthorn still not try and be the better team for the entire game?

Ratten was talking about how a win is more important than 100 and talking about team. Then why complain about it after a game? Carlton were trying to feed him on every occassion, he got a disgraceful free kick for his last goal, and were expecting Hawthorn to allow him free run at the ball when he was obviously Carlton's only target for the last quarter. I think they had forgotten that Hawthorn were playing as a finals team, still worrying about their team and standards, and Carlton had turned this game to be about an individual.

I can't believe Carlton's reaction, and trying to bag a coach that has completely trounced them the last two times they have played, and has them playing a style that cuts them to pieces.

Its just deflecting the loss and smashing they have received, trying to call the coach a disgrace is laughable.

Earn your goals, we aren't going to do you any favours, and you wont get any in the future. Welcome to professional sport.

You've had your handouts from the AFL, you aren't going to get any from your opponents, so learn to deal with it.

What a pathetic response to getting belted by a better opponent.

Just harden up.

He wasn't good enough to do it. First half = ZERO GOALS. Hitting post, spraying kicks. He only has himself to blame.

Spot on.

Carlton are getting use to hand outs and wanted another.

Re: ATT: Fev haters

Who thinks it is funny that he fell one short of 100, I found it very humurous.:D:D
but would have been very funny if he did kick it and the crowd ran on again.:p:p

In a way, its pretty ironic that the league's most selfish player fell agonisingly short of an individual milestone. The way he missed out though (by the spiteful actions of Hawthorn's coach) was pretty poor though.

As for Fev's chasing - if you watch him week-in, week-out, you see that he does chase like that on a regular basis. He chases arguably more than any other full-forward, particularly in those 1 on 3 situations where the other team just triangulates him and runs the ball out of there. Its just that there have been a few occasions where he has dropped his head and abused umpires while the ball is still in the area, and everyone remembers those. But those are the exception, not the rule.
