Fev Deal Near Failure

fact is though you guys have lost 2 out of best 5 players in the one season, and for no return, if your board says they wouldnt take the best possible deal they could get (without it being a bluff) then your board are incompetent. trades are done with your head, not your heart.

Sorry, who is the other 'best 5' player we have lost? Surely not Stevens?

I watched the 70+ point capitulation in the prelim. You actually had a chance of a flag if you got Fev, but have zero chance with your current list. I'm happy about that. :)

Zero chance? lol maybe you should worry about your own list. With or without fev i wouldnt be backing it to have any september glory in the future.

With Fev gone carltons premiership chances with this list = 0:)

McLean covers Stevens, younger version that will grow with the midfield group as opposed to Stevens just growing old so that is a slight win

Bradshaw was not a great replacement for Fev and Riska was superfulous in that midfield

Your only hope is draft picks from Sydney, if they give you pick 14 you might be able to snare Panos who could be a gun Full Forward, the kid has a scalpel for a leg and vice like hands.. I kinda had my heart set on him before Jolly

Would be funny if we got the Pies first round pick for Fev wouldn't it. :)

yeah thats who i meant, i dont really follow blues games but i thought he"d of been there abouts.
Not for a while. Wouldn't have been top 10 by the end.

Agree with this completely. Hopefully so.

I think most of our supporters would still opt for the gun ruckman.. we had a kid kick 50 goals in his first full season with Dawes and Rusling still in the mix for that position so it's just not a need for us

Well, we both know you were never going to get Fev anyway. And your ruck situation was shocking in the finals series, so I agree it needed to be patched up with Jolly. Fraser seems to be struggling to get on the park with that chronic knee injury. :)

Collingwood existing and winning premierships = 0 :D

14/39 win/loss ration is awesome dood...

agreed his rucking days are over. Wouldnt be the worst thing to try him up forward but in reality if that doesnt work he will struggle big time to get into the 22.

so what happens if fev ends up being sacked by you guys ? is he paid out ? can he nominate for this years draft ? or will carlton say to him we"re keeping you on the books unless you take a reduced setllement thus allowing him to go into the draft ?

the old chestnut comes out.

Does history have any influence on how a current list will perform??

I would worry about Carltons winning mentality this decade and currently before bad mouthing the pies.

Wouldn't happen. Apologise will be made, high horses will be dismounted. The media circus will move on to the next story, and time will fix any issues between Fev and the club.

Who knows. It all depends on how much of the ever growing Fev rumour list is fact or BS. Hoping we do something like the Pies did with Didak and Shaw and the Cats did with Johnson i.e. an extended suspension. Hopefully Fev can sort his issues out, and mend some of the damage his 13 hour Brownlow Bender caused. Not too fussed if we play Waite, Setanta and Kruezer up forward next year. I'm sure they'll enjoy 80% extra output from our midfield which will be even stronger in 2010 :)

Take this how you want to, my source has just given me a call back. An updated story about the Fevola deal is about to come out in the Victorian media and basically will state what i'm about to say.

Talks broke up between Carlton and Brisbane a little after midnight...

Rischitelli: As reported has backed out of the deal. Citing family reasons, lack of time to think it over and he was unsure what role he would play in the Carlton midfield.

Bradshaw: Reports that he has also backed out of the deal are BS. Bradshaw was looking to return to Victoria to finish his career and he is comfortable with moving to Visy Park.

McDonald: The Blues are happy to involve McDonald in the deal but does not believe he is adequate compensation for the loss of Rishchitelli in the deal. We want more basically.

Other names Voss is willing to trade: Apparently Voss is one of the most straightforward traders that has taken part in trade week. He comes into the room with a couple of sheets and reveals them accordingly (Untouchables, Willing to Deal, Players Interested In) Some other Brisbane names up for trade Collier, Sheldon, Roe, Rockliff and Drummond.

Brisbane's remaining picks, Carlton list status and rumours of a huge deal from Sydeny are all issues that have stalled the deal. Carlton are reviewing thier list overnight ready for more negotiations tomorrow morning which will now include AFL mediation.

Personally it looks like the deal will fall through. I hope the Sydneny rumours are true.
