Ok I smoke but I'm not going to even start to try justify my life style. The way I see it is you only live once and what you choose to do with your life is YOUR choice.

I work in a Pub and I'm all for the no smoking rule inside of pubs and clubs the way I see it is if you want to smoke in a public place ie pub, club or nightclub just because you smoke doesnt mean that everyone has to put up with it and a majority dislikes smoking. Plus it absolutly stinks the place out everynight I came home smelling like a dozen ashtrays I'm glad I don't have to put up with that now.

They should also ban smoking in Cars and Houses aswell especally if thier is young children involved.

I do relise my lifestyle is not a healthy one BUT like I said before you only live once and when your number is up,its up.

My choice for cigarettes are Winfield Red Rollies, I can not stand tailor made Cigarettes they taste like shit and are hugely overpriced.

I'm a middle-aged woman so I smoke Longbeach, Horizon or Stradbroke.

I'm a slightly older than middle-aged woman so I smoke Holiday slims.

I'm an Asian exchange student so I smoke Marlboro menthol.

I'm hip so I smoke Stuyvys or Benson and Hedges

I'm a bogan so I smoke Winnie Blues.

I'm a young bogan so I smoke Winnie Light Blues.

And so on and so forth.

Are you for real?

You seriously would happily hand over some of your individual liberties to the government & happily have them ban people, including yourself, from smoking in their own houses & cars?

Jesus mate I worry about the future of democracy, it just seems that people are more & more happy to let governments tell them what to do, what to think & create more rules that we have to abide by.

Anyway in answer to the original question.

I've given up smoking but I don't think it'll be forever I enjoy it too much, my ciggie of choice is a Lucky Strike Red, I love those bastards.Otherwise Malboros, the normal ones not the chicks ones.

Winfield super mild when I was in Australia, they were nice.

Lucky strikes are bloody hideous ciggarettes. They're the lowest of the low. If they're the ones you get in the UK then they're bloody awful.

I smoked styvesant lights in Australia and malborou lights in england. Now i breath clean air. :)

How can you say that, they're the king of cigarettes.

Not the silver ones but the red ones, although they're a bit strong for some people.

If you don't like them then you never really liked smoking.:D

Malboro lights, they're ok but they lack a kick, I like a bit of bite in my ciggies.

As I said I'm having a spell of clean air living too & to be honest life just seems a lot more dull & the world greyer & less inspiring plus I've developed a gluttony for sweet food.

Gone are the days of nothing but tea/coffee & ciggies all day with the odd piece of toast thrown in.

But I've no doubt that I'll be back on the horse soon enough, it's just the nightlife that gives me the sh*ts now, I just love a pint accompanied by smokes & I just don't have the same urge to hit the pub now.

I've been stuck smoking lucky strike reds for the night when that is all they've sold at the bar i was annebriating myself in and i'll tell you, even thinking about it, i get a pain in my back. They're shocking!

ps. they're homeless people ciggarettes ;)

Well why else do you think I smoke them?

They complement the Big Issues that I carry in my non ciggarette holding hand.

Anyway I have serious issues, aha you could say big issues (boom-tish), with people who don't like Lucky Strikes. It's like people who drink beer saying 'Yeah I can't stand that Lowenbrau crap give me a pint of Carlsberg'.

I hate to break it to you buddy but in most rental houses in QLD you arent allowed to smoke inside the house.

This poster has a very good point it should be made illegal for anyone to smoke inside the house (Unless YOU own it) and cars especally if you have young children that will be exposed to it.

It also makes the house reak of stale cigarette smoke and goes through everything like curtains furnature etc etc its disgusting and to a degree unhygenic.

Why should you be allowed to smoke in a rental? its not your house so therefore you should be treating it with respect. as for smoking around kids in cars or where ever, I find it extremely selfish when a parent decides to smoke around children passive smoking is almost if not as bad as actual smoking and cause problems for that child/children in later life.

I smoke but I refuse to smoke near children and if I am around others that do not smoke I always ask them if it is ok to smoke infront of them if it isnt I move away from them.

what's wrong with Carlsberg? and wtf IS loewnbrau?

Well using that logic i think we shouldn't allow people of a certain race to cook and only eat take away with the stench some foods leave behind.

Ever been to a persons house that eats nothing but fried food? What about a "curry" house, you know walk in and 5 mins later your clothes reek like a vindaloo. Some people find that smell offensive.

Stupid LAw.

Look he said they should ban smoking in houses & cars, he didn't mention whether they were rental or not.Plus I didn't mention children.

But if I own a house & rent it out & don't mind tenants smoking surely that's my business, nothing to do with the law.

Or should be anyway.

As for cars, I'm not mentioning children or anything I'm answering his basic statement of banning smoking in cars & houses.

What's wrong with Carlsberg?

It's rubbish that's what, or as they'd say themselves 'Carlsberg probably the worst lager in the world.'

Lowenbrau, it's the king of beers, from Bavaria, you gotta hand it to the Gemans they know how to brew beer.

Try it, life will never be the same.

It's crazy, there's meant to be a month's worth of rain today alone, looks like it too.Thunder & lightning too.

Nah Lowenbrau isn't a wheat beer, it's just pure & simply my favourite draft beer, it's well nice:thumbsu:especially with a lucky strike.;)

I was reading about smirking today.

It's where you go outside for a ciggie & chat up fellow smokers.

I've already seen evidence of smokers going outside & enjoying themselves so much that they don't bother going back inside & all the non smokers get *****ed off but in the battle of wills that ensues the non smokers come out to join the smokers rather than vice versa cos clearly that's where all the fun is.

I don't agree with that. I used to say "all the fun people smoke" but i knew i was trying to rationialise a stupid pointless habbit.

I hated being at a non smoking function obsessed with finding the appropriate time to 'light up'. Actually i used to smoke MORE when i was told i wasn't aloud to smoke because i felt stressed that people were denying me what i love.

I guess now, its really nice to enjoy gatherings etc and not be imprisoned with antagonising thoughts about "when am i going to be able to have my next smoke".

You're right in terms of being imprisoned by it but there is some truth to smokers being more fun, essentially people who have some disregard for their own wellbeing whether it's through dangerous sports, binge drinking or whatever seem to me to be more fascinating than those in society who make sure they have pension provision, regular medical check ups, drink moderately & try to take all the risk out of their lives.

It's not smoking itself but more what it represents in an individuals view of life.

'Here for a good time not a long time':D
