That the farce at RBR continues and Horner and Marko still keep their jobs is what continues to amaze me.
I agree they have their issues however in a results based industry they still have won the last four WDCs.

If it implodes this year potentially there's a change.

I can see this year's title fight being a bit of a Schumi vs the McLaren/Williams teams of the 90s. A stronger overall team vs one incredible driver and a no.2 (sometimes multiple) that's not even close.

Remains to be seen whether it ends up as Max getting the 1994 Schumacher win or a 1997-98 loss.

There's a long way to go in the season, and McLaren showed last year that a team can start with a dog of a car and finish with a winning one...

But right now, Verstappen's car is so far off the pace of the McLarens that he's not in a position to contest the WDC - and the lack of a points winning offsider means the WCC is not even on the radar.

One has to go, considering Helmut doesnt do much other than whinge and complain I dare say it should be him.
I agree it is one or the other than must be held accountable for the team disarray from 2024 for anything other than the top seat. And Marko seems to have been the main force between the Checo willhe/won'the shenanigans.

But it's Max that is keeping RBR at the top.

And all the leaked evidence from the Verstappen camp last year suggested it was Marko's work behind the scenes rather than Horner which has kept him there once it was clear that Newey was leaving while distrust of Horner was making him look at other options.

Thats very true, but Marko has been a disruptor long before Max got there.

Mateschitz was the one who kept the peace between them. Its no coincidence that since his passing the tension has gone up to 11.

Yeah the WCC is over. Red Bull may as well tank to for P4 and focus on the extra wind tunnel time.

But if drivers like Max and George are there or thereabouts on that second row most races, and a McLaren DNFs, or they hit each other, etc then the WDC points gap trims down real quick.

I don't see Max winning the title but there are examples of years where there driver in not the fastest car wins it. Kimi came from the clouds in 2007 when McLaren imploded and snatched a title. Alonso was so close in 2012 in what was most of the time the 4th fastest car.

If Yuki doesn't do any better than Lawson in the next two races, then what, swap back?
Its a very interesting scenario isn't it.

Theyve made "bold" calls before but this is next level. If Yuki can't get that car into Q3 on a regular basis, where does that leave RB

He wouldn't have.

Dan knew he was cooked, hence why he's not still in the sport.

He's not in the sport because he's no longer got the passion and he doesn't need the money.

Yes but that's part of the cultural problem at Red bull. It's been clear for a long time now that marko and his factional allies are the issue. They need to stare Max down and tell him why marko is being removed. If that risks Max being unhappy so be it. But red bull are too soft to do that.

Yeah they've handled this terribly but they've also just come out of the most successful period in F1 history.
Red Bull could win, by keeping their eye on Piastri at McLaren. Something could give and may force Oscar to switch.
If Max wants out, I’d imagine Audi will be asking.

But you’re right, Horner and Marko can’t stick around and keep doing these decisions

I'd argue it depends more on Jos than Marko as to the fate of Max Verstappen.

The problem is that Helmut struggles to see eye to eye with his peers.
If Red Bull’s owners were fair game one of Horner or Marko would be floating face down in the middle of the Atlantic tomorrow morning

Disgustingly poor management
