Glad Essendon won. Despite winning Melbourne weren't impressive last week, and the odds Essendon had ($5+) were unfairly long. Good to silence the doomsayers that claimed Essendon would go throughout the season without a win - there was always the threat of coming up against a bottom side and being able to nab the win with a gutsy effort, which is exactly what they did.

Melbourne were genuinely awful today...the way the players went about it was almost contemptuous towards Paul Roos, Simon Goodwin and the coaching staff.
