Agreed - punish those who administered the systems and policies that put peoples health, livelihoods and the clubs future at doubt first. Then chase those who tried to do dodgy deals and sweep it under the rug....

It's supposedly about protecting the players.... How the hell does this help them ??

Underrated post. Nothing to do with this case but.. relevant to SCN process. I think we can set aside talk of the Cologne episode being a waste of time.

I call bullshit on this. The AFL would not have treated every club the same way.

Nisbet is on record saying that West Coast went to the AFL in 2005 to tell they had a problem with (off field, non performance enhancing) drugs at the club and wanted help as they didn't know how to deal with it. The AFL turned their back on helping the club at all and told West Coast they had to sort it out themselves.

Different situations, yes, but I don't believe for one second that if West Coast had have done what Essendon did that the AFL would have tried to help them at all. I don't believe they would have helped any of the WA or SA clubs, nor a couple of the Melbourne clubs.

Was just about to post the same thing. Shame you have to scroll through all the rubbish either side but I guess that's par for the course around these parts.

Yeah, apologies to the foaming masses, but the EFC/Hird/Players have had a much better day than ASADA so far.

Some of you need to go and read the submissions a little more closely, or maybe even for the first time.

Then again, without any legal training whatsoever, it must be quite difficult to follow what is happening/what counsel are driving at/what answers are significant, so I can't really blame you I suppose.
