What a stat
Isn’t that pretty normal for a centre half? Tarks isn’t a dirty player either? So I’m not surprised by the stat, dude has played a lot of games.

Well if it’s joint it means he isn’t even alone at the top and therefore by guess work, do not imagine the gap between the top 2 & others is all that large. If he has the joint most that doesn't sound normal.

It’s called a sensationalist headline, used to generate click bait & conversation.
If I’m shown a list that highlights a massive gap, I’ll eat my words.
Yeah again I'm not seeing anything here that is totally outlandish, a CB who has played 300 matches has a lot of yellow cards.Premier League history is a pretty big sample. If he's joint most with a bloke from 1998 I don't think that means a whole lot.
I just don't think it's worth getting your back up over or trying to dismiss it as 'normal'. He's a great player who toes the line well with his performances and discipline. The end.
EDIT: Get the knife and fork:View attachment 2270480
All time is a bit of a smaller gap to third but still reasonable beyond that:

My issue is with the twitter headline being a clickbait grab, to incite discussion that he has "gotten away" with being a dirty player. Gareth Barry has double the number of yellow cards. Tarks isn't some serial offender.
The only interesting stat is no red card in 300 matches, that's kind of neat and proves he isn't a dirty player but the headline isn't "Tarkowski has played 300 matches without a red card, what a nice bloke".
What a stat
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at the awful challenge in the picture, coupled with the headline to suggest it's attempting to insinuate something. Hence the comments in said thread talking about said challenge needing to be a red but wasn't.Where did they suggest he had 'gotten away' with anything? It's just stating a statistical fact. He's 13 ahead of the next active player and the top 3 all time are 10 ahead of the next group. You said you'd eat your words if there was a big gap and there is?
Just seems like you're getting your back up over Liverpool complaints and projecting it onto an OptaJoe stat. To suggest his record is 'normal' is quite clearly not true.
I'm not sure why you're so hung up on this, is it because you want to win internet points as usual or because you interjected yourself into another topic that didn't pertain to you but now you must make it about you, as per usual in this thread over the many years?Sorry must have missed the YC per game qualification in your original "I'll eat my words" assertion. Must read better.

Remember, you replied to me. You didn't have to. I said it's normal, the YC per game statistic that you provided (Thanks) makes it seem pretty normal now, coupled with the fact that almost all the other players in that bracket are suprisingly defenders!
So no eating words here thanks to the numbers you so graciously provided that suited my original argument, which did not involve you, which was that the twitter post from OptaJoe highlighting Tark's yellow cards was not surprising to me because of his total games played and that the post was made to incite clickbait discussion to the YC decision from the game this morning.
If you'd like, we can end this here otherwise I'll have to assume you just have your back up against that stubborn wall of yours.
It's not really shifting the goal posts, it's just basic math which I'd hope you could understand. You're very worked up over this. All I did was ask how something that is now a record can be considered normal. You asked for proof that there was a large group of players all close together around the same yellow card mark. There isn't. You then said it doesn't matter because 'per game' there's another player who is 'worse' than him'. Ok? I guess if you want to shift the goalposts then yes you're right. Congratulations?
I have no skin in this, I just asked a simple question and got quite a combative response. I then provided the evidence you asked for.
It's not really shifting the goal posts, it's just basic math which I'd hope you could understand.
If Tarkowski had played 600 games and received 140 yellows without a red card, he'd still be 3rd ratio wise compared to Romeu & Joelinton but he'd also have over double their yellow cards & be "Number 1" according to OptaJoe.
I'm not worked up, my back isn't up against a wall and your need to insert little comments directly at posters instead of the conversations has been noticeable for years, so don't play coy when you get called out.
Again you decide to play coy instead of just owning up that you're just bit of a shitposter that likes to stir things up from time to time, it's fine but just be honest with yourself & everyone else.I do understand basic maths. I do also understand the discussion was around a player having a lot of yellows without a red. If you now want to introduce a further metric, then as I've already said, yes you're right. I haven't argued that point either.
Comments directly at posters? Feel free to highlight where I've done that in this discussion other than to suggest you're clearly quite emotionally charged over this tweet because it involved your player and a game from this morning that was a point of controversy. Deary me.

You love to tell people how they feel or how they're acting. I'm just telling you the same thing, it's not the first time we've had these sort of conversations so again don't play coy.
Maybe it's easy for you to stir up in these threads because you have no skin in the Premier League game, I'm not sure. I don't see you act up as much when it involves Sydney on the main board, maybe it's because you do have skin in the game there.
You can think whatever you want SM, I cannot change your mind. Just like I can think that you're not somebody who contributes to these threads in a positive manner and most of the time comes in with negativity or with aim to stir up.Maybe because the main board is garbage. I also barely post in pl match day threads so think this is wrong too.
I just think you struggle with being corrected or can't handle having a discussion without being influenced by previous interactions with a particular poster.

Obviously you'll think otherwise, as do I to your comment.
Pretty boring game in the end. Feel we could have pushed ourselves a bit more and got some goal difference, but I guess with the Derby coming up I'll just take the win.
Grealish played in the middle and was really good. Pep a bit underwhelming with his praise for him despite his MoM so I guess we shouldn't expect to see him in the middle a whole lot more.
Marmoush good again. O'Reilly good. Gundo good (and has been OK the past month). Everyone else OK.

Pretty underwhelming game by the looks of thing, most of our games are mere formalities haha.Pretty boring game in the end. Feel we could have pushed ourselves a bit more and got some goal difference, but I guess with the Derby coming up I'll just take the win.

Nunez is a top 5 finisher if you add his posters, certainly the case last seasonA post that's three inches to the left.
