Well if it’s joint it means he isn’t even alone at the top and therefore by guess work, do not imagine the gap between the top 2 & others is all that large.

Premier League history is a pretty big sample. If he's joint most with a bloke from 1998 I don't think that means a whole lot.

I just don't think it's worth getting your back up over or trying to dismiss it as 'normal'. He's a great player who toes the line well with his performances and discipline. The end.

Yeah again I'm not seeing anything here that is totally outlandish, a CB who has played 300 matches has a lot of yellow cards.

My issue is with the twitter headline being a clickbait grab, to incite discussion that he has "gotten away" with being a dirty player. Gareth Barry has double the number of yellow cards. Tarks isn't some serial offender.

The only interesting stat is no red card in 300 matches, that's kind of neat and proves he isn't a dirty player but the headline isn't "Tarkowski has played 300 matches without a red card, what a nice bloke".

The challenge on Mac Allister should have been the first red of his career. It's irrelevant that he got the ball first. The follow through was reckless and had excessive force. Even Duncan Ferguson thought it should have been a red card!

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at the awful challenge in the picture, coupled with the headline to suggest it's attempting to insinuate something. Hence the comments in said thread talking about said challenge needing to be a red but wasn't.

The "big gap" that you are referring to is also incorrect if you go by YC/Per Game basis. Which would put Romeu on top, followed by Joelinton. But I guess that doesn't fit the original twitter posts narrative of "joint top yadda yadda".

Yes, I join these threads when there's a controversial incident or debate, and if there isn't much to talk about I don't post in the thread. It's funny how it works.

I guess you just have to ask yourself if it was some unknown poster posting the stats about Tarkowski's place on the leaderboard of yellow cards and questioning your assertion that it's 'normal' would we be onto a second page over it or would you have reacted differently? Might be something to reflect on.
