Somewhere in the dark recesses of my mind - Tom Liberatore may have. "Remarkably, less than five months later he was pulling on the Bulldogs jersey again, running onto a packed MCG to take on the superstars of Essendon in a crucial Round 21 clash"

Good article with various quick recoveries.

FIVE FAST RETURNS FROM KNEE RECONSTRUCTIONS

1995: David Schwarz (11 weeks)

Suffered his first ACL tear early in 1995 and returned inside three months only to re-injure the knee in his second game back. The following season he suffered yet another tear. The Melbourne forward's struggles are the main reason clubs adopted a conservative approach.

1998: Tony Liberatore (18 weeks)
The Brownlow medallist holds the AFL record for the fastest successful return from a knee reconstruction, returning from his second operation in just four-and-a-half months. His surgeon, David Young, operated on son Tom this year after the young Bulldog tore his ACL.

2008: Nick Malceski (12 weeks)
The 'bionic man' was the first player to undergo a LARS reconstruction in 2008, opting for a synthetic ligament in his second reconstruction. He opted for the same operation in 2011 when he re-injured his right knee, returning even quicker to the NEAFL in just 73 days.

2014: Tim Mohr (35 weeks)
A quick return by conservative modern standards, Mohr was back with Greater Western Sydney's reserves in the NEAFL early this season after tearing the ACL in his left knee in July last year. He has said the knee is feeling stronger than before he suffered the injury.

2014: Matthew Scharenberg (33 weeks)
Another example of a modern player pushing the boundaries following a traditional reconstruction, Scharenberg could play his first match this weekend in the VFL. The Magpies have still been conservative with the 19-year-old, who was physically ready to play three weeks ago.

Our first quarters have been phenomenal really.

We have not lost one since the bye!
+3 v dogs
+31 v saints
+15 v port
+14 v dees
+12 v crows
+8 v wce
+22 v swans
+2 v suns
+15 v saints
+30 v giants
+24 v pies
+12 v dons

Funnily enough our best starts are not our best games. 4 times we have led by more than 20 for 2 losses, a 2 point win, and a win against the saints that could have been a loss but for the momentum changing 50m to Morris.

So if the start is similar to our prelim last year then that'll be an optimistic sign?

OK people - you have ONE job.

We managed it, you should have no problem on your home deck.
You're going to have a lot of neutral support.
Good Luck.

They announced that before the Collingwood game - Qscan Injury Update: Jack Almost Back, Hipwood a Test

Sure sign way to say he'll be delisted at the end of the year.
Always sad when a player doesn't get a good crack at forging a longish/good/elite career.

Josh Drummond is one that sticks out for me, played 94 games over 8 seasons, at it's best his kicking was among the best you would ever see. If his body had been more robust he would have been an elite of the competition IMO.

Charlie Curnow increasingly likely to miss the game against us. [Herald Sun]
The Blues listed Curnow as a ‘test’ in their injury report on Tuesday, but it is understood that there are growing doubts around the availability of the two-time Coleman Medal winner for this weekend’s clash against the Brisbane Lions.
Curnow only took part in some light drills during an open training session on Saturday and did not feature in match simulation at Ikon Park on Monday.
The Blues will hold their main training session on Thursday before making the trip north to Brisbane on Friday for the cutthroat clash.

If CC misses they might bring in an underdone TDK to play forward
TDK may not be available either.

The Age are reporting that Curnow/TDK are in doubt, McKay + McGovern + Williams + Doc are locked in to return, and Cerra is a strong chance to also be an inclusion.

Josh Mclean
At Brisbane training, Eric Hipwood continues to just do light jogging, while teammates train. Clearly not at full fitness for Saturday night’s AFL elimination final vs Carlton

Unfortunately we just need him to play his role. No other options
Yep. Shows the dearth of options we have in the key forward position. Wrong thread, and I know this has been discussed before, but our depth in the key forward position is far more of a worry for me than the defense.

Where would we be if we had the same injury concerns at that end of the ground that we've had at the other end this year?

It is something that needs to be addressed in the next 12 months as Joe is just as likely to pull up stumps, as he is to re-sign for 2 years.

Hipwood and Joe and just such a unique combination of tall and mobile while HSmith and Ryan aren't

We have won finals without them before but I'd say either of them at 70% fit are better than the next option

So we will all need extra alcohol supplies?
