Another good pre season performance by the league boys....though came at a cost with Blakison doing his AC joint and newbie Hodge doing his ankle.....sound like both will be out for a while......though McGuire and Strnadica can step in for Blakiston, whilst Marlin, Bailey, Avery, Murphy, and even Jono Marsh could collectively cover Hodge down back.....disappointing for both nonetheless, as Hodge has looked good so far from all reports.
It was a good win for the League but very bad losses to the Colts & Ressies. Hoping we do have more depth and see some improvement in the opening rounds.

EF colts and reserves thrashed EP lower grades the week before.....always hard to assess the strength of both grades in preseason games, as there are'a lot of players putting their hands up.

Cl this weekend for the final preseason hitout, most likely see close to starting 22's for colts and reserves v Cl, as EF plays WCER first up the following weekend, with only the league suiting up.

Yes that reserves score looked dire, but in all honesty, there were at least 8 colts eligible players playing, who probably wont even be in EF colts starting 22 in a fortnights time.

Speaking of dismal, you gotta feel for SD futures, EF took them to the cleaners after the league scratchie, winning by over 20 goals. Great effort by EF youngsters - 4 / 0.

The future certainly looks bright! Assuming the likes of Dean, Pauline, Vladich, Pickett will filter back down to bolster the Ressies side. In terms of the oval facilities, there was absolutely no where to sit besides the stands. Not everyone likes to sit in crowds and they were having to sit in tiny spots of shade right at the back of Allen St. The winter months will be worse.
